    1. Very interesting piece! Congrats on obtaining it! Are these orders numbered or named? Can we please see a shot of the reverse? I am sure that another will not be easily found.
    2. Beautiful bar! Is this combination researchable?
    3. Beautiful order! What was it awarded for? Regards Paul
    4. Hi James, Sorry for the late reply. I have seen this type of helmet(untouched) go for prices starting at 3500 dollars. Not cheap at all
    5. Again, I hope that I am wrong. It is just an odd order to them. Ricky... please help!
    6. Wow... I missed that one. It has been a while since I read my "Bible".
    7. Awesome stuff guys! I guess that I have just seen my first African in German uniform! Now I have seen it all!!!
    8. here is the citation: The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the PRESIDENTIAL UNIT CITATION to the UNITED STATES COAST GUARD for service as set forth in the following CITATION: ?For meritorious achievement and outstanding performance in action from 29 August to 13 September 2005 in preparation for, and response and recovery to the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina. The United States Coast Guard anticipated the potential for significant loss of life and property and, in advance of Hurricane Katrina, relocated its personnel, vessels, and aircraft out of harm?s way. The Coast Guard successfully executed multiple primary missions throughout the Gulf Coast in the wake of the worst natural disaster in United States history. Responding with more than 4,500 personnel, 130 small boats, 4 cutters, and 60 aircraft to devastation and despair across more than 90,000 square miles and 6,400 miles of coastline, the Coast Guard rescued more than 33,000 people, began clean-up operations of 9.4 million gallons of oil, replaced and repaired over 1,800 aids to navigation, and most importantly provided hope to hundreds of thousands displaced citizens through its proactive and vigorous actions. This inspiring response is a direct result of the spirit and practice of operational initiative, positive leadership and courage of the total Coast Guard force of active duty, reserve, auxiliary and civilian members. Every Coast Guard man and woman demonstrated superior professionalism, commitment, humanitarianism, tenacity, tactical acumen, technical expertise, compassion and support while maintaining the highest level of operational readiness. By their outstanding courage, resourcefulness, and aggressive actions under desperate conditions, the members of the United States Coast Guard reflected great credit upon themselves and upheld the highest traditions of the United States of America. All Coast Guard members are authorized to wear the Presidential Unit Citation ribbon with a special clasp in the form of the internationally recognized ?hurricane symbol?. For the President, Secretary of Homeland Security
    9. Hi Kevin, Thanks for posting these interesting photos. The top two do not appear to be of African Decent, yet the soldier in the lower photo does appear to be non German. I cannot tell if he is of African or Middle Eastern/Indian decent. Regardless, interesting photos!!! Regards Paul
    10. Thank you for the reply. I hope that they continue making such elementary mistakes!
    11. Wow Gary... You were not lying! Those bars are great! Being a lover of noncombattant awards, my attention was snatched by those last two! I am especially envious of the MOUNTED Mine Rescue/Service Medal! Awesome additions!
    12. Thank you for posting these very interesting photos. I wonder how many more still exist. If there are any more out there, please keep them coming! Also, I am curious to knowing if there is any evidence of Black Africans in uniformed German Service?
    13. Are these rarer versions more desirable in the collecting community?
    14. Awesome medals and grougings!! I hope to see more here soon! Here is the one that I have on a medal bar
    15. Hi Bill, Thank you for posting this very informative article. It is a very scary world out there! I noticed on the table photo, a blue sleeve eagle. I have never seen... or even heard of such an insignia. Can you please give any background information on it? It is legit or a total fantasy piece? Welcome to the GMIC!
    16. Agreed! Thanks for showing these! Has anyone seen a higher number on an ORB?
    17. Very interesting thread! Thank you for posting the photos and information. I learned a lot!
    18. Hi Pat, I hope that I am wrong, but I think that the first bar could be a post war bar made from original parts.(I hope that I am incorrect). My reasoning for this order in which the ribbons are mounted. IMHO, no one would have ever placed the HK before a KVK2. I also do not like the back of the bar, the way the backing material is applied. I hope that someone with more experience in ribbon bars can prove me wrong. The second bar looks great to me. Regards Paul
    19. I will have to do some checking around... the last one I saw went for 3,000 dollars.
    20. I would think that the "Karl Marx Orden" would fit the bill for that one.
