    1. As you all might have figured out by now, I have a strong attraction to LW tunics and collar tabs. Well, I am now focusing on tabs as they are more cost friendly(as my funding comes from trading extra items from my collection and the recycling of cans and bottles!) Now that you have seen my tunics, I want to show you what I have in the way of tabs. My goal is to perhaps create a page or reference that covers the various waffenfarbe of the Luftwaffe as well as different construction methods... If you have some tabs to add to this thread, please do so. I just request that you hold off on posting until I have completed all of my scans :-) Again, this is a participation/study thread. All input and examples for your collection are encouraged and appreciated. Warm regards Paul Reck First are my Judicial TSD Oberst tabs. Notice that the waffenfarbe is Weinrot. Close to the basic red found in the flak arm, yet more of a maroon color.
    2. Rick, You know... I never thought of that option before. I will have to look for some of these uniforms to compare insignia. I thought that their insignia/tabs were very different. Something to look into. Warm regards Paul
    3. After looking at the visor, I am starting to have my doubts. The inside(sweat band), lining(with the post war plastic diamond) dont match up with anything I have in my photo files. Also, something about the eagle does not seem right as well. These are just my feelings. What is your honest input? Warm regards Paul
    4. The inside. I am curious as to why there are no side or rear shots of the visor. I will ask him for more pics. I will do some research from the pics I have and see if I can find any discrepancies from the shots provided. Best regards Paul Reck
    5. Here are the additional pics of the visor that were sent to me today...
    6. I have seen cases where the ribbons were applied backwards on Soviet and East German medals. However, I have never seen any print mistakes like that before on medal ribbons. I would have thought that they would have spotted the defect in the medal ribbon before putting it on the medal. Paul
    7. Nan Su, Beautiful collection of wound badges you have! That cased WB in gold is AWESOME!!! Ronnie, That 92 WB is silver is very interesting!! I wonder if they are all (92 maker marked) like that?! Paul
    8. Wow... this one is definately outside the norm. I am used to seeing the red cases. You have something really special there!!!
    9. Can you please post the set for us? Do you remember what the criteria was for each grade?
    10. I am definately envious!!!! This would be the first Real Silver version I have seen!!! Very nice!
    11. They were issued post war... the only difference in the badge design was the absence of the "R" inside of a circle on the bottom portion of the wreath.
    12. These medals appear to be made rather early on.(.925 stamped fatherland second class). Were these normally made of real silver? Nice score on the mounted set. While the medals themselves are not hard to find, I have not seen too many mounted/issued sets around. Paul
    13. I have seen several of these boxed sets come up within the past few years... I simply thought that they were always for sale because of diminished appreciation and desirablity. I remember seeing one on Ebay and another on Peter Weymond's site.
    14. Thank you for your addition Tony! A very nice carded group!! Is this early post war or a prewar variation? Paul
    15. I would definately state that it is black! On a scanner, blue would show up. Sweet tab!!!! :-D Regards Paul
    16. Thank you for the reply! Our medals do look like they come from identical makers. I feel with all of my faith that they are real. Warm regards Paul
    17. There have to be more Riders badges you your collections!!! Please post them!!!
    18. Awesome set!!! Rare and complete sets are pretty difficult to find! Thank you for sharing the shots with us!!
