    1. That is an amazing piece. I have never seen one like that! Is this a recent find?
    2. I bet that he was bitter with the wehrmacht for life after going through all of this!
    3. Thanks for that. Why are these insignia(not only medical) so rare? Where there not many officers recalled during the war? I would think that these would be a bit more common.
    4. Is there a listing of known casualties of the concentration camps? Of course I know that it will not be a complete listing, but it would be a quick way to rule out if he was a known fatality.
    5. I am not experienced with these at all, but congratulations on your new acquisition! Is this one your first?
    6. If they were brought back to active duty, why did they not simply wear their regular insignia? What did they need to be specifically designated? Did they have more or less privileges or pay?
    7. I am surprised that in 1941, that he was not simply shipped to an obscure command on the Eastern Front. I wonder if he was recalled to service at a later date. During the later part of the war, I would think that they would be using every experienced person they could find, regardless.
    8. I wonder if the owner has had the group researched!! I would love to read that story!
    9. That is a great article, Chris! Where are you finding all of these great documents?
    10. What was the sum of his decorations? For someone who did not do so well, he seems to have had a fair amount of medals.
    11. I have not seen more than one or two others!! Very nice!
    12. Operationally, yes. From what I read, these men were those recovering from wounds or illness who were not fit for combat duty but were able to return to duty on a limited basis. They were assigned to the Concentration Camps for Temporary duty until they have completely convalesced. I do not know much about these men or positions.
    13. I guess that most officers retired and put the uniform away, never to be worn again.
    14. I know... I saw that one as well. It really made scratch my head. Could be 100%(but where are the shoulder straps. There is no RECORDED waffenfarbe for these troops on Temporary assignment), but too risky for the cash involved.
    15. Quite sad on more than one count. First, this man suffered two wounds and committed several recognized acts of valor for a nation that will want to kill him for just being who he was. Talk about a stab in the back. Second, it is disappointing to see such a group split up like that!! I love Austrian bars too. I noticed that there is no HK.
    16. Thanks Ricky! Why would they kick him out(Retire him) just before the war? Was he really that big of a pain? I am sure that he was eventually recalled!
