    1. ooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh You must adopt me!!!! This bar has made my day. Now, why was the Red Eagle legitimately placed on a Lifesaving Ribbon? Was this automatic for a second award? Paul
    2. Sorry for the late response, but that an awesome bar you have there... pure quality, front and back. It is amazing how well the Landwehr Long service medals retained their finish!
    3. In Shiite belief, the black flag also evokes expectations about the afterlife. I would compare this to their "battle flag". These flags were present with writing but most I have seen were without any writing of any type. http://www.ctc.usma.edu/imagery_warfare.asp#blackflag I remember seeing these flags as well. I saw the green flag, mainly on mosques. http://www.ctc.usma.edu/imagery_geography.asp#greenflag Mention is made of a white flag, but I did not see one of these... http://www.ctc.usma.edu/imagery_geography.asp#whiteflag Sorry if I carried your thread off topic.
    4. I know that there are some more LW NCO Overcoat tabs out there!!! Come on! Let see em!
    5. Thanks Gerd, for the website information. I entered all of my orders and number medals, as well as the others I am looking for. No success, but still a great idea! Regards Paul
    6. I would be scared to know the going price! It is the first I have ever seen. It is made of Gold as well?
    7. That is the most beautiful Imperial decoration I have ever seen. What was is awarded for? Do you know the number awarded? Paul
    8. Hi Ed, I am so hooked. This was my second lot of orders I had researched. I have just sent in a request for an ORB"2"! I can hardly wait to get that one back! Paul
    9. Alfred, Thank you for the information. I did know that units were awarded orders, I did not know that they used the titles in such a manner. Gerd, Thank you for the encouragement. How do you suggest I go about looking for these orders. I agree that they are out there, but how do I find them? Paul
    10. "3 May 1945 Commander 31st Tank '......, Order of the Red Banner, Order of Suvorov' Corps, Major-General 'Kuznetsov'" Why did the General list his own awards on this awards document?
    11. Rick, Thank you for giving so much of your time for the translation. I would give anything to track down his missing orders. Also, I am considering the research of his 3rd Class and OPW. It would be interesting to get this man's history!
    12. Rick, Thank you so much for the translation! I cannot express how much one should research the Orders in their possession. PAul
    13. Hi KGS, Could you please post a close up of the ribbon bar on the tunic you have posted in post #15? Regards Paul
    14. I have just received these two LW tabs. What makes these special is that they are NCO tabs to be worn on the overcoat. This was a short lived practice, thus these tabs are not easy to find. 1. Singals NCO, unissued. 2. RLM/Construction Unterfeldwebel.
    15. Great assortment of bring backs. Can you please do some closeups of the photos?
    16. I know what you mean. Bundeswehr uniforms look more American than German.
    17. Wonderful tunics!! I love how you have them badged! Lets keep them coming!
    18. That is a beauty! A nice high ranking too. Thanks for sharing! Lets keep this thread alive. Lets see your favorite DDR tunic!
    19. Hi Kirk! It is a great to see you here! The tunic was one of those items that went for a small cost years ago when I was collecting DDR. The wear on the tabs, tunic, and CT seem consistant to me... but who knows. You have a lot more contact with this stuff than I. Welcome to the GMIC! I hope to see you around! Regards Paul
