    1. I don't like it, quality of the core is definitely lacking, and reverse hardware is weird.
    2. Nice, and not so common with the Hohenzollern medal.
    3. Me too, looks like a converted Trapetz to me.
    4. So it is, I watched this auction with interest as well, and the one for the Sachsen-Gotha medal, which was in very poor condition and sold for way too much. I did find a cased St. Henry medal, so stay tuned Stogie.
    5. There is a long discussion about the Saxon bar over at SDA, turns out it's a real bar with the St. Henry ribbon being a modern copy, so it's also messed with.
    6. Yup, it's pretty sad out there these days. Aside from all the fakes, one of which you've posted, and other bars which have been fiddled with and are massively overpriced, such as that first one, there isn't much left over.
    7. Yup, I've seen this guy's stuff, and I agree, some is good and some is garbage. Regarding this piece, I think it's a good one.
    8. This thread is starting to take up a lot of band width. I get more depressed each time I view this material.
    9. Again, these run the gamut from pretty good to crappy. Another reason why I've quit collecting.
    10. Right, thanks for that. But I don't think I've ever seen a legit Feldschnalle with that particular device.
    11. Hmmm, anyone seen a real bar with that device on the HK ribbon?
    12. I think the best reference source is a forum such as this one, and the collective experience gained by serious collectors.
    13. I saw this one too, and honestly didn't pay much attention to it, as fleabay has been inundated with fake Feldschnallen lately.
    14. Well, begging your Imperial Majesty for forgiveness. Crusty old guy out.
    15. In light of recent revelations, I think anyone with any 'trust' in these institutions is delusional.
    16. It's a nice bar to a long serving officer, and is not from the 1870 period. I agree that the ribbon is that of the FEK, and that would date this Feldschnalle after 1934. It is an 'old-fashioned' bar for this period, but the Bavarians were an iconoclastic bunch.
    17. Quite right, certainly much scarcer than a PLM, and your example is a beauty. It would be interesting to see the Lippe cross without the screw disc.
    18. Thanks for the update, some of these are getting scary-good, unfortunately.
    19. Very nice projects. I'd like to see better photos of the Lippe Kreuz fuer Heldenmutige Tat in screwback version.
