Local antique store find, made out to Kanonier Alois Lochner of the Bavarian 3rd Field Artillery, dated 1901. The watermark in the bottom shows a soldier with a girl. Condition is near mint.

Black grade is a good one, gold should have a painted finish to be an award piece.

Cool stein Don, I think it's a piece of Studentika as opposed to military.

It looks to me like a manipulated piece with swords removed, although I'm definitely no expert on Bavarian MVK's.

Getting back to Vitaly's comments about the poor construction of this bar, frankly I don't see the inferior quality of this one compared to other products offered by, for instance, the Schraegstich Faker. I have handled and viewed hundreds of Schnallen in my time, and the quality of this bar is above average.

I agree with Simius, drop Andreas a line, he is very knowledgeable. I have had problems with the other 'experts' you are consulting.

My initial reaction was similar, the combination of awards and the reverse hardware indicate something assembled fairly recently. I believe the EK is a one-piece Spangenstueck, and I agree that the rest of the medals are genuine. This bar is a dangerous product of someone who really knows what they're doing, and reminds me of the fake bar produced by a member here some months ago.

Very nice, the case for the Sanitaets-Kreuz is fairly scarce, and the KDM case appears to be a matching private purchase item.
