    1. Graf, who is the dealer?? If the item has been sold as guaranteed original, he should take it back, since the dealer is supposed to know what hew is selling. I had a discussion with a German dealer about a prinzen clasp that I bought 6 years ago, and he is going to take it back. They usually claim they sell authentic stuff and they earn a living by selling stuff. So he is a professional. Therefor he should take it back, it's his problem, not yours. best regards, Ben
    2. TUI , or typing under influence I guess... The only thing that may be original is the core. Can't put a maker on the frame or the hardware, so I think that is repro. Another good round 3 ek2 butchered to make a quick buck... ;-(
    3. The only tging original in this crposs is the core. The hardware doesn't look familiar, and I don't know if they used a frane of some other ek. Not a contemporaray piece IMO
    4. Hi Chris, is there any chance to find out when this cross was awarded? It's an early ek, butr these numbers weren't introduced before mid '42 So it IS possible that it it's marked, but only if it was awarded after mid '42. Best regards, ben
    5. Hi Alec, nice original Deschler, I don't have a problem with it at all. best regards, Ben
    6. Chris, these ek1 clasps come in unmarked cases, whlie a number of these ek2 clasps came with mamer-marked envelopes Best regards, Ben
    7. Hi Chris and Jim, they look very much alike, but the ek2 clasp is a Hammer& Soehne. best regards, ben
    8. I still think it is Juncker. The reverse hardware is typical Juncker, the wideness of the frame as well, and the core is , most likely, from Waechtler & Lange All K&Q crosses have the same core (with the typical date) as far as I'm aware. ben
    9. Are you sure about the maker Prosper? I would have put my money on Juncker, the ek doesn't have the typical K&Q numbers in the date.... Ben
    10. Don't bother, it's a Latvian fake. They ty to cover up the landmarks by making it look ground-dug or damaged, but it is what it is: fake. Apart from that you will not find a mm51 on any ic
    11. Kriztofer is right, it is a fake clasp, and an ugly one if I may say so. Items pictured under an angle are always tricky, always ask for a head-on picture. Far easier to tell what is what then
    12. That was my first thought as well. On the other hand: I have a Meybauer with a 1st type pin marked 7, and a 1st pattern Juncker ek2 clasp marked L/12..... Although it isn't logical, and I have never see another marked round 3 cross, it MIGHT be genuine. Unfortunally the pic isn't good enough to compare the markings without doubts....
    13. Thank you Chris!! Very much appreciated! Best regards, ben
    14. Hi Chris, I sure hope it's still there, couldn't find it on WAF either. The reason I am asking: on one of the German fora a member posted a "22" marked ek2, and I would like to compare the stamps. You also mention a round 3 ek2 (marked)?? Thanks, Ben
    15. Hi Claudio, nice original IMO. Can't tell you much about the maker, except for the fact that they used a number of different pins on their ek's. The SB is a different story: they are marked on the disc (like L58 crosses) but stamped from the INSIDE. best regards, Ben
    16. Judging by the number-design I'd say Deumer. These crosses usually have a copper-plated iron core. Nice cross btw!! Best regards, Ben
    17. Hi there, the core looks like an L/54 core, but the pin is odd. I have 2 ek's with this type of pin, , one magnetic and one non-magnetic. Both are 43.3 x 43.5 mm, the weight is about 14 gram each. Both are unmarked, early crosses from 1 maker (not known yet) Not much of a help, but sometimes it is very hard to determine a maker. best regards, Ben
    18. Trevor, I wrote " sorry" because it sucks when you find out you have paid good money for a copy. There are a number of makers for the Schinkel-crosses, but Meybauer and deumer are the only 2 identified makers (so far) And yes, the 1st class you post is from the same maker /faker. Best regards, ben
    19. IMO both are fake, but with this satellite-pics it's hard to tell.... regards, Ben
    20. Hi Kraut, are you sure this cross is made by Boerger&Co? I see nothing that reminds me of an L/57... Wide frame, core is different, and this kind of pin set-up is very uncommon for Boerger & Co. Please explain. Best regards, Ben
    21. Well, you passed on a nice original. But don't worry, there are plenty of these around. best regards, ben
