hello, many thanks for your public explanation. Well, I started collecting with soviet awards,and in this field one must have the habit of high-quality work about enamels. I know communist hungarain follows another tradition, but I've been surprised to see the enamel not touching the tip of the star branch, to see some enamel paint flushing above the edges... And on my red star the finition is better, without ANY enamel flushing. You can tell I exagerate, but such items are problematic with other kinds of medals, specially soviet or east-german ones. all in all, I'm happy to have discovered a new delaer on Ebay...

Christian, those books are only sure for post-1969 uniforms. Some cloth sets aren't precise (a 50ies admiral with a M69 cap, wrong pants in 49 and 55, fake KGB general visors caps, fake general service caps for infantry...). They're usefull once an expert collector has told you the complete list of errors...

hello, Laszlo Bekesi is an excellent guy who tried to do a nice pedagogy, but at least 30% of the items displayed in its books are ugly fakes... (for example vol.1 a fighter orders set with an ugly Suvorov, in vol.2 a hero of soviet union, KGB general visor cap, etc....) Be carreful!!!

hello, everybody now knows that they were taken the day after the final assault...I should take again my ref book, but some soldiers of the sgt. Kantaria platoon managed to climb on the roof in the last hours of the combats, but technically no photo could be taken without danger for the photograph. There were an order to put the flag of victory for the 1st of may... Those famous images were taken the day after with the reichstag "secured". could anyone precise these facts please, my memories aren't so good!

no it was the common "40 years " jubilee medal, widely awarded in october 1989. The last one was the "Dr Richard Sorge medal" of the Stasi, but it was never awarded. Others relained prototypes (as the Stauffenberg order for example)

it is a pity this topic might be closed to avoid a fight...would it be possible t hear some ARGUMENTS from both sides? Kilka should expose with more details and arguments his opinions. A picture with a "do-it-yourself" procedure is too simple for me. And I believe there-re here some moderators who are able to examinate objectively this award.

about this dealer, who seems to be the "leading faker in ukrainian market" please look at this set (not orderbooks, so maybe out of subject...) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/35-KGB-COLONEL-BOXIN...1QQcmdZViewItem certainly a genuine group of papers and photos upgraded with two KGB and NKVD docs... old genuine photo on a brand new KGB ID, a brand new photo on an artificially used NKVD ID...all others docs are genuine in my opinion. all rare docs, ID and now orders booklets are fakes, all stamps, writtings and numbers have been brillantly put into light by Shawn Caza, a fellow collector.

hello gentlemen, the orders booklets have clearly been bleached...I'm not sure but could the hero booklets have been entirely made up? The leather cover is unprecise, the paper looks news...of course all stamps are ugly. I've seen a better made diploma coming from Ukraine.

hello, it looks like a polish suspension and ribon device...POland is logicaly the closest country to USSR to use such ribons

starting from the 3rd entry all is crap; the roman numerals for "III" class are some ugly latin "1".... I didn't take any time to further examine the medals...a whole made-up group based on a "doctored" booklet!
