    1. I can add: Red Eagle 3rd class with swords and bow, seen on 3rd place at the Ribbon bar Hohenzollern knight with swords on 2nd place Southwestafrica medal in steel on the 6th place last 2 are a Hamburg Hanseatic cross and the last is the Austrian Military merit cross. Where do You have the info from that he received a W?rttemberg Crown knight with swords??? There was actually a Hoefer who got it but not our plmE guy. Karl Julius Rober Hoefer was born 1862, in 1914 LtCol in InfRgt 129, Commanded the 117th Division and finished the war as Commander of Breslau. 25.02.1918 he was promoted MajGen and retired in 1921 as characterized LtGen, Died 1939. Best regards Daniel

    3. Hallo Christian, gesundes neues Jahr! Tunis.... Mostly I saw the Order of Nischan Iftekhar in German Groups and listing. Maybe somebody here around has a pic available. About Medal and other decorations I dont know. Best regards Daniel
    4. I can confirm nothing more to him... at least there is nothing more in any published rolls around. Maybe a Portrait will turn up... Best regards Daniel
    5. Hello, Since a long time I have one Ribbon bar from Admiral P.K.Emright in my collecion. What I have about him: born 1894 entered the Navy in 1910 Capt, HMS GRIMSBY 1937-1939 Capt, HMS CARDIFF 1939-1941 Capt of Fleet, Mediterranean 1942-1944 Capt, HMS CUMBERLAND 1944-1946 Noble Committee on Warrant Officers 1946-1947 Flag Officer, Training Sqn 1947-1948 Adm Superintendent HM Dockyard Devonport 1950-1953 CBE 1946, KCBE 1952 died 1960 Does anybody know more details about him or has even a Picture of him? Many thanks Daniel
    6. Hi Chris, The Red Eagle is a full size one. The campaign medals with the round arms are the firs issue from 1813 and 1814. The King did not really like them and the later issues made in 1815 had the squared ones. Best regards Daniel
    7. Hi Guys, yes, top bar is missing a 25 oakleave to the 1870 non-com EK. I bought this bar years ago out of the "thrash box" of a dealer who ripped the device to sell it separately. BTW, I could ID the original owner; Oberstabsarzt Doctor Bernd Kiesewalter. Best regards Daniel
    8. Your livesavingmedal is more likely a Saxon Friedrich August medal. But still a quite nice selfmade one from the recipient!!!
    9. ... and the very same Nassau style ribbon was used for the Weimar time Fire Brigade medal of the Fire brigade association Hessen- Nassau. Best regards Daniel
    10. That is just anoher example why You do not need to take the prices in the OEK overly serious. 2 known examples here and I know of another ribbon bar with one on it and such a ridiculaus price in the OEK. Best regards Daniel
    11. Hi Chris, I dont know, but I can imagine. VON Mertens are not so much around. For Your big bar I will have a look. It will be more difficult but I wil see. Best regards Daniel
    12. very bad. The usual nonsense produced in the 70ies I suppose. Crowns with enamel ribbon are so insane rare that nearly NEVER one turns up; especially not at eBay. Best regards Daniel
    13. Hi Heiko, Your bar with the BZ3a at the end fits to just 1 General; Ludwig Heinrich Hermann von MERTENS, 1864-1945, 1914 Oberst und Kdr FAR 44, later GenMaj (18.04.1917 E) GArtK 2 and retired as GenMaj, odd that he got not a Character as LtGen for the retirement in 1919/20 but that happened. Decorated with RAO2X and KO2aX replacing his peacetime RAO4 and KO3, DA and BZ3a. He seems to have been permanent in Badens Field Artillery, either FAR 66 or FAR 76 until he got the FAR 44 in 1913. So he would be easily have gotten a BRJM. Around 1905 he was in the Feldzeugmeisterei, a post where he in a good position to receive a SWA St. Both medals, SWA St and BRJM do not appear in the ranklists and also the OAL 1908/09 does not help here. But I think I have enough reasons to exclude all other suspects and it was really his bar. The pure Prussian is clear now. Robert Koehne removed his Serbian Takovo in WW1. Wild Card, Your bar is absolutely beautiful!!!! That can also easily be a Generals bar! All that campaigns and 25+ years without a Red Eagle or Crown... they are for sure around the neck. Best regards Daniel
    14. Hi Heiko, Your 2 medals bars are quite nice. The pure Prussian is hopeless to ID as long as no other info is available about the wearer. The Baden one also screams "General" to me. I can try my luck. Best regards Daniel
    15. Holla!!! one more! Str?mpell is now my jubilee WK3X holder! Now I can trace exact 300 of them! His first name is written at the dedication; KURT! Niice pic! Can You please post a better closeup of the medal bar? Pos. 3 might be a Prussian war aid cross and between his WK3X and the Brunswick 2 I assume a Saxon War Aid cross. Best regards Daniel
    16. Hi Guys, This bar is for a while in my collection and I THINK I managed to ID it. The bar shows: Bav. King Ludwig Cross, BavMMO 3 or 4, Iron Cross, BavJubilee, PrRAO, plain blue ribbon, BavLong Service, Austrian war ribbon. So it looks like a typical rear area Officer / Beamter or recalled zD or aD type. I went through plenty of old listings and came out with just one hot candidate. All my other suspects I could erase for other decorations in WW1. I believe it belonged to Gerhard Freiherr Harsdorf von Enderndorf. In 1907 he went zD as Major, the 1914 Military Handbook lists him with: BavMMO4, BavJubilee, BavXXIV, PrRAO4, PrJoh, WtbgF3a, RussAnna 3 All match my bar and the Russian Anna was not longer worn in WW1. He was NOT recalled for WW1 according to the 1926 ERL, just his brother Alexander, who made even General. The clue why I think it is him: my Bavarian secret Wunderwaffe lists him at the 8th September 1917 as LtCol a.D decorated with an Austrian Military merit cross with war decoration! I do wonder, how a not- recalled guy could receive this and not the usual rear area Franz- Joseph order. If any of You have more sources it would be great! Best regards Daniel P.S. BTW I want to express my thanks to Paul Chepurko for the magnificient job he did with the Rangliste on CD Volume!!! It is really a pleasure to work with it. No longer small letters and symbols in 100 year old books; screen- size clear readable scans!
