    4. Sergey, THANK YOU for the explanation and the pictures!!! It really helps me understand the Soviet uniform regulations. Doc
    5. Stijn David, I'm glad you enjoyed the article. That is a GREAT photo!! Thanks for posting it. I'm thinking about expanding the article into a book. I am planning a trip to the Camp Hearne site and meet there with Dr. Michael Waters and his archeology students. I will also go to Texas A&M to see and scan the artifacts from the site. It's just a matter of Dr. Waters schedule. I'll keep everyone up to date on the progress. Doc
    6. Sergey, Are you saying that they are Militia? Doc
    7. Sergey, That's a GREAT looking Parade Uniform!!! I do have a question for anyone with the 58 regulations. Does that dagger hanger go with the Colonel's Parade uniform? Doc
    8. Enzo, I hope that this "copy" didn't cost you too much. The quality of this piece isn't very good. I guess if you are happy with it, that's all that matters. I, personally, wouldn't have bought this fake. Doc
    9. I forgot to post the 30 year Border Guard Badge. Doc
    10. Ed, Here is a translation of a similar badge from the website that Marc just posted: Anniversary sign of Ry2; 30 years of release. I battalion MVPKKU THE KGB OF THE USSR. Sign is prepared in the honor of the 30- anniversary of the release of the first battalion of the Moscow highest boundary red banner command school THE KGB OF THE USSR in 1976. Sign is the silvery panel, in center of which superimposed the image of the boundary red- green post, in upper part of which is placed the golden coat of arms OF THE USSR. In the lower part of the post of Ry2; inscription "30 YEARS". Boundary post is framed by golden Lavrov- oak poluvenkom, interwoven green tape with the golden inscriptions: "1972", "MVPPKU THE I BATTALION THE KGB OF THE USSR", "1976". Sign is prepared during April 2006. Doc
    11. Ed, That's a BEAUTIFUL Badge!!! Where do you find these gems? Doc
    12. Kristof, If you have the award Card and Citation(s), Please post them. Doc
    13. Rick, The LT's boards are a Blue-Grey (?) over a Charcoal Grey (?). That's the best description of the colors that I can come up with. Thanks for the ID on the Major's boards. Doc
    14. Hello Rick, Here are the backs of the shoulderboards. The LT's are narrower and the backing is sticking out around the edges. There is a number 145 on the white boards and 165 on the tongue of the Lt's boards. Doc
    15. Marc, No they are not embroidered. Just the standard stars. Ed, that seems to go with the territory. I just ordered a $79 book on Soviet Uniforms and insignia. Maybe it will shed light on these. Doc
    16. Gentlemen, I have these shoulderboards that are supposed to be from the Soviet Medical Service. There is some question as to what they really are. The buttons are not important because they can be replaced. Basically, I'm asking for your opinions as to what they really are. Doc
    17. Kevin, Thanks for the link to some GREAT photos!!! It really brings the history of WWII to life. Doc
    18. WOW!!! That's a GREAT photo!!! And I thought that I looked too young in my Basic Training photo Doc
    19. A Russian friend of mine has told me to wait 1-2 years as the prices will come back down. He suggested that I work on the other areas of my collection. I'm following his advice with one exception. I am still looking for Orders, Medals, badges and research for Soviet Doctors, Nurses and Medics for my book. Doc
    20. OSTFRONT, I am working on a book about the Soviet Medical Service. I would like to add yours, with ALL due credit, to the book. Please send me a PM. You have a very nice group and research!!!
    21. I agree with VETERAN about wearing a M?daille Coloniale instead of the Current Overseas medal. I am glad that you are pursueing the awards that are rightfully yours!!! I've had to do the same for a couple of mine. It's a shame that we have to jump through hoops to get what is due to us!!! Doc
    22. Chris, Congratulations for getting the medals due to you!!! You guys look sharp!!! I really like the epaulettes. I can't say this enough...Thank You for your service!!! Doc
    23. I agree with Christophe!!! I hate people that do this The bidder doesn't have a clue about this one Doc
