    1. I finally get a brass version of this 25th Anniversary of the GPW badge. Pretty worn, especially on the medallion's obverse. But the greatest part of of this is the home made screwpost (with Pobeda plate, as well)! Typical maker's mark for the brass variations. In fact I haven't seen any other marks besides this one.
    2. Sorry, those are all I have to go by. I could make them larger but I don't see what that would accomplish. I don't suppose you have any connections on this award?
    3. Gents, may I get some opinions on this, please? Maybe some pointers as well if this is bad as I'm still really unsure of focus points on Belgrades. TIA.
    4. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply, gentlemen. Mayhap I shall try a bid on it then.
    5. Gents, any comments on this? Poor images, I know but at least two of the more important identifiers look good. TIA!
    6. Can't find it in Avers8. Other than a pre-war style and the heavy industry motif I've no clue either. Sorry I can't be of more help.
    7. Got a new BM to go with my GPW group. So here it is with his mates, and Marshall Catov who is ever vigilant! (albeit a tad sleepy)
    8. With just a quick glance I see nothing that sticks out as bad.
    9. Looks like a Combat Service medal and a Defense of Caucasus medal. The para badge could be a '33/'34 Soviet badge. It's hard to tell from the image.
    10. Some new mining related items for you perusal.
    11. Cool. The forums change but the addiction remains.
    12. Certainly possible. I've seen alot worse mash-ups. What is that last ribbon, 30 years of the armed forces? If so I like the bar more as a real, 1966 issue. The newness does concern me some. What's the back look like?
    13. Is that you Tommy? Nice to see you as well. Thanks for the translation.
    14. And all my school badges together. Most of these have been aquired recently.
    15. Received today a silver acadamey badge and an air defense troops badge and document.
    16. Has anyone ever gotten an "unresearchable" return and then tried again with someone else and gotten a positive return?
    17. I've got a 633k OG3 and a 18.6k OG2; both late awards. Would they fall in that wound award range? Gents, I'm now on the fence about research, after being firmly in the anti-research corner for years. Which of my awards might yield the best results; a ORB 49.9k, a Nevsky 28k, RS 189k, BM 235k, CSM 432k. ?
    18. Very interesting the slight variations. That ought to set the "internet experts" ablaze.
    19. Sorry for the late reply Meyersee. They sure look like Soviet, Pobeda factory badges. What do the nuts say? I can't quite read them.
    20. Wow! That's a strange find. Assuming they are both real that's quite a find. Lost like you say and then found, or maybe stolen years ago and then sold later? Thanks for sharing.
    21. Hi Rick, He may have worn the whole medal like a HSU, I've seen some do that. He may have not even gotten it through some snafu, or he may not have liked it. As for its couple of buck's worth; if some guy in a ribbon factory had a pipeline out of Soviet Russia a few hundred of these would've been worth a few month's wages. Never underestimate the resourcefulness of a pissed off proletariate! Other than the missing B-day medal it's a correct bar and there's nothing that screams 'total fake' so display it with pride, or mount it on a legit, 70s era uniform to jazz it up. Or heck, wear it to work one day. I did that once with a pin-on labor bar. Not one comment.
    22. I'm surprised the Lenin Jubilee ribbon's not there considering the last two on this bar were awarded after the Lenin medal. And, the first two awards are more than likely just for long service. All in all a nice but common and un-sexy 70s bar although I do like to see the AF vets bar as it makes this, if real, a career military man. IMHO.
    23. My guess is ORB and CSM as long service, along with the RS that's worn elsewhere as is the missing Lenin Cent. medal. Nice bar for a career mil man, probably. Can be easily recreated (with a decent fake ORB).
    24. Nice price!! I'd guess 50s or maybe even 60s. I've not seen a WW2-era bar with the plastic covering on it. They are usually the thin ribbons with the thin metal back plate.
    25. What a fascinating thread and wonderful bar! When they say "piece of history" what they refer to are bits like this. An Imperial conspiracy theorist might ask something like 'Have we see a sudden upswing in bars that are one or two of a kind, or might belong to a GFM or other luminary? Perhaps not a Rommel or Richtofen-type luminary but something a bit less amazing but totally collectible to those in the know?' The odds of that happening would be pretty high, right? But if so wouldn't one expect some sort of fake provenance as well? Or maybe said purveyor of these astonishing fakables is wickedly evil enough to slip these out without documentation and wait for those fortunate few intelligent enough to recognize them for what they allegedly are to plunk down wads of cold, hard cash? I want to believe the bar is good and I believe only one man could have worn this bar. But did Model wear this bar? I don't know. :speechless:
