    1. Naxos....that's amazing....I've been thinking it looked liked a "44"....so I've been looking up every regiment that is numbered 44, but "24" is the right number. Thank you...I never thought to distort the picture to get a better view! Chip got the number long before me, and it's right in my hands! 3. Battalion Neustrelitz was part of Feldartillerie Regiment 24 (Holsteinsches), which was part of 17 Feldartillerie Brigade Schwerin, 17. Division (Schwerin), IX Armeecorps. Unfortunately there was no name attached or printed on the back and no photographer information. Steve
    2. Exceptionally nice!! I'm still looking for my first one of these!! It seems like 99% of those found in the states for sale are reproductions.
    3. After a short 2 month hiatus, I surfed through some dealers webpages and found a very nice surprise. I probably overpaid for it, but I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen this Strelitz civil award mounted on a bar ....plus it came with an original picture . The bar matches exactly to the picture, eventhough we can not be sure the medals are original to the bar or original to this owner, it's nice to dream. I was pleasantly surprised to see this Sterlitz award with the correct ribbon. It will be a nice addition to my collection! Your comments are welcomed!
    4. That's one I've sought for years...but I'm always just alittle too late when they come up for sale! Exceptionally nice Cross! Steve
    5. Geeze...I love the Order of the White Falcon especially when it has a nice set of swords attached to it. Very nice Paul!
    6. Are you sure? The ribbon looks different and from the details I see (maybe you can see better details having it "in-hand"), the medal is not the same. I could be wrong! Steve
    7. I double and triple checked everything on this bar and it all appears to be old, especially the way the ribbons have conformed to each other and the medals (medals making indents into the ribbons). There are even "tie down" threads that have broken on three medals. But here's the odd thing: All medals have tie downs EXCEPT the FF2.....this raises some serious doubts in my mind! Thank you on this point. I do remember seeing a few here. Cheers, Steve
    8. Heiko I guess anything is possible! I will re-examine the FF2 mounting tonight. Steve
    9. Really? I usually scrutinize my purchases carefully...I could see nothing wrong with it. Except for the use of the wrong ribbon on the first medal. It came from a friend in Germany that is a member here. Can I ask, what is it that you don't like? Maybe I missed something. Steve
    10. Collecting has been slow lately, and sometimes it's good to slow down and re-adjust your focus.......this is my latest addition!
    11. Congrats!! What a fine accomplishment....and I thought you had given up on Strelitzer...... This must be the one I have......which I accidentally and now permanently "borrowed" (with permission) from another Forum member. Cheers, Steve
    12. I recently came back from a show and had the opportunity to purchase one of the limited series of the new book by my good friend Stephen Previtera on: COMBAT BADGES OF THE THIRD REICH, VOL. 2, LUFTWAFFE. Here is the link to his website if you'd like a better look: http://www.winidorepress.com/books/German_...2/synopsis.html I can't say enough about the book! It's stunning........as are all the other books produced by Winidore Press. Check out the link which gives a synopsis of the book. Steve
    13. SWEET! Very nice badge! I wonder why I didn't see it......good score! Cheers, Steve
    14. Crazy crowned Aurochs with a Gorgonian smile........no worries about this medal ever being faked!
    15. The colors for the first ribbon bar look Hessen (ribbon 1, 3, & 5) to me (but I could be wrong!). Although they do have that bavarian type of fold. It's a very nice bar.....
    16. A face only his mother could love......For all his hard work......I've seen this image on the Meck.-Schw. crest before but does anyone know the significance, if any, of the grimace with a tongue sticking out?? Only in Mecklenburg...... Cheers, Steve
    17. I agree with Stogieman, this is a modern copy......some will be chemically aged...this one is not. The chemical aging makes them easier to detect. Cut-outs were made as private purchase badges but are exceptionally rare!
