Naxos....that's amazing....I've been thinking it looked liked a "44"....so I've been looking up every regiment that is numbered 44, but "24" is the right number. Thank you...I never thought to distort the picture to get a better view! Chip got the number long before me, and it's right in my hands! 3. Battalion Neustrelitz was part of Feldartillerie Regiment 24 (Holsteinsches), which was part of 17 Feldartillerie Brigade Schwerin, 17. Division (Schwerin), IX Armeecorps. Unfortunately there was no name attached or printed on the back and no photographer information. Steve

After a short 2 month hiatus, I surfed through some dealers webpages and found a very nice surprise. I probably overpaid for it, but I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen this Strelitz civil award mounted on a bar ....plus it came with an original picture . The bar matches exactly to the picture, eventhough we can not be sure the medals are original to the bar or original to this owner, it's nice to dream. I was pleasantly surprised to see this Sterlitz award with the correct ribbon. It will be a nice addition to my collection! Your comments are welcomed!

As always...Very nice, JTW! -
I double and triple checked everything on this bar and it all appears to be old, especially the way the ribbons have conformed to each other and the medals (medals making indents into the ribbons). There are even "tie down" threads that have broken on three medals. But here's the odd thing: All medals have tie downs EXCEPT the FF2.....this raises some serious doubts in my mind! Thank you on this point. I do remember seeing a few here. Cheers, Steve

I recently came back from a show and had the opportunity to purchase one of the limited series of the new book by my good friend Stephen Previtera on: COMBAT BADGES OF THE THIRD REICH, VOL. 2, LUFTWAFFE. Here is the link to his website if you'd like a better look: http://www.winidorepress.com/books/German_...2/synopsis.html I can't say enough about the book! It's stunning........as are all the other books produced by Winidore Press. Check out the link which gives a synopsis of the book. Steve
