    1. Hi Jan, I would have to agree with Steve....Not for me!
    2. That is an extremely nice piece, Matt. Congratulations!
    3. A few more. Friedrich Haerle. Paul Pawelcik. Walter Lange. Rudolf Kollenda Harri B?ttner Hans Schr?del All were members of 1.K/88, KIA 12th March 1939.
    4. Hi Genoa, The signature on the cuff title document belongs to Major Pfeffer and is found on most "Urkunde" of this type. I'm afraid I can't make out the signature on the other doc' but I'm sure that one of the other members will be able to make an identification.
    5. Talking of someting a little different... Have you ever seen a cross-eyed frog?
    6. It's interesting to note how close these early birds were in design. Juncker 1st pat, Deumer 1st pat, Assmann generic eagle.
    7. Eric, well what can I say?.Nice doesn?t cover it. I?ve been after one of these for some time to finish off the series, but sooo hard to locate! Congratulations! I hope you don?t mind but I?ve tweaked your pix to show the true beauty of this rare piece.
    8. That's a nice one, Dave.. Will have to get the DVD when it's released.
    9. I think you have, Paul. Looking through the grime, they look like the same colour as the tabs you were enquiring about in this thread. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=4247
    10. It still looks good to me, Staff. The fixing clamps certainly look period and are of the type used for a larger pole than found on an officer's vehicle. This reinforces my thinking that this particular pennant would have been used to identify a command station/HQ.
    11. Just in... A clean example by GWL. This one has the plated zinc wreath and Buntmetal eagle.
    12. Good morning Staff. Firstly, welcome to the club! Well, that is an interesting piece! As you say, we are rather limited by the size of the picture but we can say that the colour configuration (brown/black with white eagle) is correct for a Commander of a Battalion-size signal unit. The normal size of a car pennant is around 24 x 40cm. One possible reason for the size of this pennant is that it could have been used to identify a mobile HQ or command vehicle during manoeuvres. As to originality? as with all cloth, there are certain tests that can be done. Black light, burn test on a loose thread, etc, but only you, having it in hand, have that advantage. Going on the picture supplied, I would say that it has a good chance.
