    4. These were originaly posted on another Forum I belong to by a Russian member, who at the moment is suspended for flaming and comments unbecoming, he did not reveal where he obtained the items, but, I believe he is a former member of the Soviet Air-force. The "Der Spiegal" story mentions the members Forum user name, but, I doubt they went as far as to ask his permission if they could use his pictures before running the story. Kevin in Deva.
    5. Hallo Gents, interesting read, the story is dated,Thursday, October 7, 2004 and refers to an incident in 1997, was there ever any follow-up to his claims. Kevin in Deva.
    6. Hi Alec and Chris, thanks for the additional pictures. I see Chris your one has an Issue / Serial Number on the side this is not evident on Alec's piece, we're all pieces numbered in this way? Kevin in Deva.

    8. Many thanks for the reply, I have told the owner that the items are not originals and he has as many others seems reluctant to accept it at first, but will come around with time, I just hope he did not pay out big money for his "treasures". Kevin in Deva.
    9. Hallo Gents, a guy I know sent me an email asking about a medal which belonged to his great Grandfather his attempts to attach a picture, so far have failed, however he has added the details of what was on the medal, which I presume is a commemorative piece. Will add pictures once I receive them from him. Kevin in Deva.

    11. Hi Chris, thanks for your reply, I was 99.9% sure it was "schrott" The current owner is ok in many ways but,he believes its "patina" can only indicate its real age and henceforth and "original" piece He just wont have it that anything can be faked and aged. Kevin in Deva,
    12. Hallo Gents, I have been shown this piece here in Romania, current owner is adamant its an original piece my gut instinct is its a poor modern copy. Kevin in Deva.

    17. Hallo Greg, Thanks for taking the time to post your items, some of which I have not seen before I was talking to an officer of the Romanian Fire Brigade at September 09, "Day of the Fire-Brigade" in Deva, and he informed me that even up to that period, the Fire-brigade was still part of the Military Administration, but, gone were the days of the Firemen being part of the military conscripts, with camo-uniforms and being weapons trained on the Kalashnikov. The sentry boxes on most fire stations have been discontinued as well, in the early days, post communism period, it was not unusual to see a rifle wielding sentry or simply armed with a bayonet on his belt on watch. Today they are looking for volunteers willing to commit for "x" amount of years and there are even some private fire brigades coming into operation. Kevin in Deva.
    18. Book one deals with the instruction of soldiers in:- Tactical Instructions. Military Topography. Firing Instructions for Infantry Weapons. General notes and instructions with regards Military Sanitation. Each chapter is broken down into sub-sections. I will add some pictures of the book contents later. Kevin in Deva.
    19. Hallo Gents, visited the local "Gypsy Market, with the good lady wife, on Sunday morning its an outdoor event, so after a night of torrential rain and recent thaw, it was liquid mud underfoot like the Somme trenches of WW1 Just leaving empty handed when I spotted these two items:- http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2010/post-950-126315255798.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2010/post-950-126315262495.jpg 1: REPUBLICA SOCIALISTA ROMANIA MINISTERUL FORTELOR ARMATE MANUALUL GRADATULUI PENTRU INSTRUCTIA COMUNA A TUTUROR ARMELOR BUCHRESTI - 1969. 443 Pages. 20. I believe this is one of a series of modern commemorative medals being churned out in Russia at the moment. Private purchase with no official backing. Falls into the "Bling-Bling" section. Many of these items would look better on a key chain especially judging by there "quality". Kevin in Deva.
    21. Could F.A.D. be classed as an early R.A.D. Dad Joking aside. the guy in the middle appears to be standing on a folding wooden step-ladder, part of the wood and hinge, below this letters, show under him, and the paint splattered jacket on at least two guys would indicate some type of pioneer of construction Korps. Kevin in Deva.
