Ed_Haynes Posted January 27, 2007 Author Posted January 27, 2007 How late did awards of the Medal "We Won" extend?!Outside.
Ed_Haynes Posted January 27, 2007 Author Posted January 27, 2007 Inside. Awarded 26 August 1985, apparently without serial number.
Guest Rick Research Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 The devil did not make me do it-- ED did. Here are two MORE Mongolian medals which I have been bewitched, bedazzled, and beguiled into buying at a militaria show today--Type 2 1946 Anniversary Medal and 1961 Anniversary Medal. I know, I know, you specialists are thinking: But what is on the OTHER side?
Ed_Haynes Posted March 4, 2007 Author Posted March 4, 2007 Yep, just as with you imperial German sorts, we like looking at the backsides . . . back sides . . . !
Guest Rick Research Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 OK, so 1946 # 14988 is nothing special (though somebody apprently thought it might have been gold and I just cannot resist Moscow Enamel Buddies products) but check out 1961:So, do I get to claim--no matter how briefly-- a New World Record?
Ed_Haynes Posted March 4, 2007 Author Posted March 4, 2007 And we have . . . <drum roll> . . . a new record low number. (Amazing how easy we are to please?)
Ed_Haynes Posted March 4, 2007 Author Posted March 4, 2007 And, if we can ever crack into the records, this could well be a "someone". (Ask me in a few weeks.)
fjcp Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Well, at least two of us are pleased! That makes three of us.... I'm nuts about low serial numbers, hell serial numbers are good period!!!!
Chris Boonzaier Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Well, at least two of us are pleased! Make it three...Did the seller know it was a low number or did that not interest him?
Gerd Becker Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 (edited) OK, so 1946 # 14988 is nothing special (though somebody apprently thought it might have been gold and I just cannot resist Moscow Enamel Buddies products) but check out 1961:So, do I get to claim--no matter how briefly-- a New World Record?Nice! Did you pay more than for a usual one?Gerd Edited March 5, 2007 by Gerd Becker
Guest Rick Research Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Well, that would depend on whose "regular price" you mean. There is quite a range in what these are offered for, but I was there and these were there and I had money and now they're mine mine mine. I did not even LOOK at the serial number until I got home, not expecting it to be anything exciting.
