Deruelle Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Hi everybody, I would like to see some ribbon bar with HHO3x, and more particulary the crown and swords devices. I would like to register all the devices type. The first oneRegards Christophe
Guest Rick Research Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Some known recipients[attachmentid=4266]and a general assortment[attachmentid=4267]with the full sized buttonhole version[attachmentid=4268]
Guest Rick Research Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 A few more, starting with Baron Massenbach before and after getting his[attachmentid=4269]And a random assortment as many as I turn up randomly that will fit, some known wearers, some not.The weird ?M3K wreath on this one:[attachmentid=4270]is a GODET peculiarity, whether you find the metal "license plate" tag on back or not. This one is the same size as found on buttonhole ribbons:[attachmentid=4272]
Gerd Becker Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Awesome Ribbon bars, guys. jumping jumping jumping Rick, the first picture last ribbon bar, what does the double Schwarzburg-Ribbon signify? And on the second picture second bar is that a 1st class spange on the EK-ribbon or just an oversized 2nd class spange?Still LOVE the little Knights-cross
David Gregory Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 the first picture last ribbon bar, what does the double Schwarzburg-Ribbon signify?←Isn't that a double Waldeck?Lovely bars, guys. I wish my scanner would tolerate three-dimensional objects!/David
Gerd Becker Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Isn't that a double Waldeck?Lovely bars, guys. I wish my scanner would tolerate three-dimensional objects!/David←Yep, double Waldeck. Sorry, my mistake.
Guest Rick Research Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 A ribbon bar Spange is always EK2, no matter what weird size. (That would be a EK Forum thread :coola: ).The double Waldecks were thanks to a peculiarity which allowed ALL classes awarded to be worn, and not a higher grade replacing a lower as was normal German practice.Lt dR Karl Stracke of IR 83 got the "WV4X" 3 October 1914, and the "WV3X" 20 January 1915 (!!!). He earned his HHOX in 1918 as an Oberleutnant dR.
Eric K. Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 (edited) Beautiful bars!!!!!Deruelle:I really could use one of those half moons Rick: It seems funny seeing some of your goodies with that EVIL cross Eric Edited June 14, 2005 by Eric K.
Deruelle Posted June 14, 2005 Author Posted June 14, 2005 Hi, Thanks for your commentsPlease find my buttonholeChristophe
Bob Hunter Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Here are my two contributions to the Crown and Swords catalogue. In addition, if you look carefully at the EKII on the second bar you will see it has a mini first form spange.
Guest Rick Research Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Ah, that is the HOHENZOLLERN Hohenzollern, not the PRUSSIAN Hohenzollern in post #18!
Bob Hunter Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 May I be forgiven for wandering of topic a bit? You know all those Hohenzollerns look alike anyway! It's sad when cousins marry...
landsknechte Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Major Friedrich Freiherr von Berchem, aerial observer in WWI, was awarded his HHOX in July 1918.
landsknechte Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Yikes.... Sorry about the extreme close-up there.
