I love that stuff. Best chocolate around.

I have to buy it sneakily as it is not cheap and the wife does not approve of the price ;-)

Chris is right as they are still produdced but the tin does not bear date and Wehrmacht markings

When I was re-enacting, we had a source for these treats. Is it me, or are these loaded with caffiene? I remember eating a few and really being energized.

The list on the back of the tin, says "Coffeingeg?lt etwa 0,15%". I don't know if it containes the same percentage, in the current chocolate.

The cannisters were the modern ones. Although... I have seen reproduction WW2 era canisters with the product inside.

Yes, seen them being marked 1938..., might be the most early ?

Can't recall I saw one 1937 marked, but I haven't seen too many to know that much of these items..., haven't seen one sofar 1944 marked either ..
