decker Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Nice stuff, Peter! I loved that greatcoat; it looks like (almost) mint condition...
SasaYU Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 I love your display's Peter. Can you show us more?
Peter Orincsay Posted November 5, 2009 Author Posted November 5, 2009 I put this on my wall today. A nicely framed award document of the Hungarian Order of Vitéz, signed by admiral Horthy. It´s framed together wit the actual order badge as well as with a photograph of the admiral.
Peter Orincsay Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 Time for some Austro-Hungarian monarchy items.. Here´s a nice MVK that landed on my display-shelf this week.
army historian Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 The uniform and the medalbar is my grandfather?s. This photgraph of him is taken in 1945. Pete'r absolutly great collection! Great displays, too. Captain George Albert
Peter Orincsay Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 One of the most beautiful Hungarian orders are the order of VITÉZ. There are many makers of the order itself, and one of those are JEROUSHEK. I had two Boczán badges in my collection before and now I got this Jeroushek one. Many collectors says that it´s the most detailed and beautiful enamel work among the Vitéz badges.
Peter Orincsay Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 (edited) Jeroushek, beep blue enamel details. Edited January 14, 2010 by Peter Nyitray
Peter Orincsay Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 My latest acquirement, a small Franz Joseph cross.
Hugh Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 The Hungarian St. Stephens crown. With the greatest respect, I must ask - Why is the cross on the Hungarian crown cockeyed? I know there must be a good story there. Thanks, Hugh

I know there must be a good story there. Thanks, Hugh Hello Hugh! Yes there are many stories about the adventures of The Holy Crown of Hungary. But the most believable is what you can read in the links below. The Holy Crown of Hungary Stephen I of Hungary Cheers! Péter

Péter I can just imagine the look on the servant's face when he slammed the iron lid of the storage chest on the top of the crown! Thanks for these. Hugh
Peter Orincsay Posted February 6, 2010 Author Posted February 6, 2010 This beautiful little star shines up my collection-shelf. The middle star of the Hungarian Order Of Merit.
IrishGunner Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Thanks for sharing - going through your collection was like a mini-course in Hungarian militaria. I learned quite a bit. Egészségügyi
SasaYU Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Nice, clear pictures. I was enjoying looking at them. Go on.
Peter Orincsay Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 (edited) Another piece to the collection. Order of Franz Joseph knights cross in silver on war-trifold. Edited February 17, 2010 by Peter Orincsay
Peter Orincsay Posted February 17, 2010 Author Posted February 17, 2010 (edited) I think this is the most beautiful medal there is. The Order of the Iron Crown III class, with the war decorations-wreath and crossed swords. The markers mark, A.E Köchert Wien. Edited February 17, 2010 by Peter Orincsay
