Serbia - Photographs and postcards of Serbian soldiers

    Recommended Posts

Not my field but could be Czechoslovakian Avia BH-33E.

According to some sources we bought 20 airplanes in 1929 together with a licence to produce 24 more. I think that they were made by Ikarus.

Very nice pictures: lot of detail. Are the squarish caps on the rankers are typical of the Serbian Army for this period?

Very much so. Makes a Serbian ranker instantly identifiable from pre-WW1 through WWII. But in fact the pattern came from Austria in the 1880s or '90s.

Interesting photo, should be from before December 1932 as the factory was completely relocated to Zemun at that time.
Novi Sad factory was producing seaplanes while the fighters were being made in Zemun.

    EVERT GUSTAV WALDEMAR BECKER

    (Helsinki, 1840-Rome, 1907)
His military career took him to many different destinations. He served in Poland as a sub-lieutenant of the Finnish Guard and goes to Spain to fight in the war of Morocco, where he participates in the clashes of Spanish troops against the Moroccan rebels in 1859-1860.
For his bravery on the battlefield Becker gets the Cross of San Fernando
He collaborates in Mexico's civil war. In Greece's campaign against the Turks. In Egypt in favor of Ismael Pacha, who names Bey and in Serbia reaches the rank of Major Staff Colonel
There are pictures of him in the Serbian uniform, where he can see, among other decorations, the spanish Cross of San Fernando and the Medal of Africa of 1860

Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain more information in Serbian files about this person?
