In 1942 - the commander of 1-st tank Corps, since September 1942 - the commander of 3-rd mechanized Corps. Since January 1943 commander of 1-st tank army (April 1944 - 1-st Guards) which participated in Kursk fight.

Has died of wounds on July, 3 1942 г

    HSU Major-General Aleksandr Ilyich Lizyukov, KIA on 25 July 1942?

    He commanded the 1st Tank Division, 1st Motorized Rifle Division, 2nd Tank Corps and 5th Tank Army.

    Has created fighters I-15 (1934), I-16 (1933), I-153 ("Seagull", 1939) on a photo.

    The Hero of Socialist Labor (1940), the State premium of the USSR (1941, 1943). It is awarded with 2 Lenin orders and Order of the Red Star.

    With 1943 N.N.Polikarpov - the professor of the Moscow aviation institute-emblem.

    It is buried on Novodevichje cemetery of Moscow-memorial.
