Snoopy
Yes, my Kaiten model is finally finished. I am so happy that I had to start a new thread for it. I will not claim that the model is totally accurate. I only had some photo's, the measurements and some old scetches to work from, but I think that it looks like a Kaiten, so I am happy. The original Kaiten that I have based my model on, was discovered by american troops in september 1945. I decided to keep the weathering to a minimum, since this was a one way weapon. I weathered the markings, to simulate outdoor storage.I hope that you like my scratch built effort. All the bestSnoopy

Snoopy
The markings on the original was brush painted, so I painted the markings with a toothpick.

Snoopy
That is a super model!! What did you make it out of? I am amazed!Thank you very much, every one. I made a skeleton, to get the basic shape, and covered it with styrene plastic sheet's. I made all detail parts, from either metal or bits of plastic. I decided early on that all parts had to be hand made. That's the fun of scratch building. Hmmm, where did I put the plans for that german WWI naval airship, or maybe the Waco Hadrian assault glider? Satsuma
Hi Snoopy I'm new and only discovered today the Military Modeller's forum (I usually hang-out in the Japan section). Now I think you Kaiten is superb. If ever you hold a masterclass, count me in. Keep it up; you're inspiring. Satsuma (IJN Enthusiast)
