Uffz. Rohleder
I got those two for my dad. What do you think about them?
waldo
Both MVKs are pieces from the awarding period. The first is from Deschler, the second is from Lauer. At the second, the back would be interesting. Best regards Walter

Uffz. Rohleder
thank yoh very much. how long did they made this type?
spolei
Lauer delivers the Ordenskanzlei till 1916. So you won`t see red boxes for the Lauer-crosses. This type was the first from beginning. The second type has smaller swords. Type 1 up Type 2 down
Uffz. Rohleder
Again thank you. Now I can see the difference between them.

Die gab es doch erst nach 1918. Es müsste wohl Kgl. Bayerisches Kriegsministerium heißen, oder irre ich mich da? Gruß Walter
Martin-
Hi all, this is my first post here, so please be patient with me. Recently on German Ebay many MVK1st class have popped up, all of which look repaired or restored. I would like to know your opinion on these pieces which sold for fairly low prices except for the one with crown. On of them was even sold twice, but the old auction from November can not be accessed anymore. I myself am very interested in the MVKs so I would like to post more questions and observations in the future. Hopefully this post is not too large. A single screenshot from an ipad amounts already to a 7mb file. Thanks and regards, Martin
Red Eagle
All of them looked manipulated! Most of them will be a (self-)gilded 3rd. Class.
Martin-
Thats what I thought! The gold looks so good and new that I can not imagine a 100 year old decoration would look like that. The one with the crown is the only one with a realistic touch to it.

Martin-
So they fake the center medallion? I did not expect that. Good to know, thank you! Imagine paying 100 to 150€ for such a fake!

In my opinion, if you are interested in buying MVKs, I would recommend a well-established dealer. Their websites make it clear that they guarantee the authenticity, and will buying back something if it is shown to be a fake. I look forward to your future posts. Chris Boonzaier
Welcome Martin, I must admit, i did not realise these were being faked that much???
Martin-
Cladius, Chris, thank you for your warm welcome! Spolei has helped me via PM to understand why these are indeed fakes, thanks a lot! The funny thing is that currently there are more 1st class on Ebay than 2nd class. And we all know that this does not reflect the actual award numbers. So, as promised what little I have so far: Original post-war bar of Xaver Hauser. Swords are Deschler. Cant upload more because the system tries to merge the post and I exceed the upload limit. Which was no problom when I uploaded the 7mb plus photos above... Its not much you are missing, just two late war boxes from Weiss with MVK3rd class. Edited January 27, 2018 by Martin-

waldo
Hello Martin At the higher levels, you should be extra careful. MVK 1 with crown and swords is very often forged. An original of Leser you can see in my post above. Exactly so an original must look by Leser. Other versions of Leser are not original. Martin-
Hi Walter, vielen Dank! Mein MVK1b sieht so aus. Spolei hatte mich darauf hingewiesen. Daher denke ich dass es original ist. Schöne Grüße, Martin And you all know my new MVK2a. Its the one from Chris, which I bought from him today :-) Thank you Chris!
Uffz. Rohleder
Hi all, I missed that cross. Did I made a mistake? Looks like someone took the swords off (?) But the price was 80€ on this one. The cheapest I ever saw so far. But is it a real one? Im always scared about those enamel crosses.
waldo
Hello, this MVK 2. Kl. X was an original piece, in which the swords were missing and a damage in the enamel is recognizable. These 2nd classes with swords can often get between 80 and 120 euros. Without swords and with damage, I find 80 euros for this peace not cheap. I hope that brings you a little further. Best regards Walter Edited September 2, 2018 by waldo
spolei
This is a Deschler second class with "lost" swords.
