Laurence Strong Posted April 28, 2012 Author Posted April 28, 2012 (edited) Hi Brian Here is the announcment for the Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter that appeared in the 1 Jan 1939 edition of the Uniformen-Markt, this was a bi-monthly publication put out by the Uniform/Medals/Insignia/Swords and Daggers Industries in Germany. Ulsterman Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 This was one of those interesting German medals that had enormous political significance. In 1940 it specifically was exempted from metal restrictions by a FuehrerBefehl, as it was denoted a "combat status" decoration. Thus, it continued to be awarded throughout the war, after most LS medals had been suspended.

My all time favorit in my collection It comes right from a old lady - she was for long time my neighbor - till she died. This bar was her mothers. Sorrry for the bad pics - just had my mobile phone.
