spartan Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) Hi all, I am interested in this type6 Lenin as it is one of the less common post-WW2 Lenins. The seller sent me some photos, but I am still not sure if it is genuine. Because I only find two other photos of Lenin in this type. Could someone give me some advice about this Lenin? Is it common that the serial number deviated to the left side? Thank you. Edited November 18, 2013 by spartan
Rogi Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Nick will know about this for definitive, but the rear of the Lenin almost looks like gilded brass (don't be alarmed until an expert chimes in, could be the lighting etc of the picture, plus I'm no expert ! )You also want to double check which type of beard Lenin has, if this type is common with Pointy beard or Smooth beard etc Be especially careful when purchasing this kind of order, lots of fakes out there so definitely a good idea asking here.

Ferdinand Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Nice Lenin! There's nothing wrong with this set.
JapanX Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) Perfectly ok Lenin that was made by Moscow mint somewhere between February and December of 1972. Edited November 18, 2013 by JapanX

Paul R Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Yes. I like it too. Does anyone have a gilted brass fake to show as a comparison?
speedytop Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Hi JapanX, what is your problem? I have two of these beauties, both with the same number: And you can compare: Uwe
JapanX Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 ... what is your problem? Nice Manieren you have dear Uwe! P.S. It was slightly unusual for me to observe watermarked photo of fake order. That's all. It was a simple observation.
Paul R Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Hate to say it, but those are some scary reproductions... how do you spot these? What is the red flag that gives them away as reproductions?
speedytop Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Hi JapanX, there is no offense, just my (relatively ) simple question. By the way, I hate it, when people use my pictures without my permission, originals or copies/fakes. Hi Paul, these are good copies, compared with some other copies of Lenin orders in my collection. The main difference is the weight. Gold and Platinum complete with ribbon bar 46g, this copy 25g. Uwe

I have two of these beauties, both with the same number: Leninorden 261969 2 x copy.jpg And you can compare: Leninorden Original und Kopie.jpg Uwe Hi Uwe, Thanks a lot for your post. It's my first to see such good copies. Spartan
Stefi88 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 (edited) Hi, would anyone be willing to be so kind and show some quality copies to avoid of the "good" Lenin? Thanks in advance! Edited November 12, 2019 by Stefi88
