Farkas
Agreed! Great pictures thanks. This mans trio caught my eye amongst all the bling... Am I mistaken (often am) or is he, in fact, wearing two 1908 Jubilee medals? One on the end on a civil ribbon and the one in the middle on a military ribbon? Personally I’ve not seen that before.... tony
Ian
Tony, It certainly looks like he is wearing teo Jubilee crosses. I have not seen that before. Hopefully some one will be able to shed some light on this mystery. Cheers, Ian

Farkas
Hi Gents that last one is a ‘funny’ one isn’t it. not everyone in the crowd looks that happy.... and i would have asked if it’s ‘Kaiser Karl’ as well, certainly looks like. ~~~~~<< Hello1812 Overture ... is there anything at all on the reverse of this last one please? tony 20 hours ago, Bayern said: Yes ,they are miners , what is going on in the second pic is very odd . a clown holding a portrait of some high ranking person and a polish peasant dressed 19th century style. by the Austrian uniforms the pic is from 1917 or 1918 13 hours ago, Von Thronstahl said: Isn˙t that Karl l ? Farkas
Hi Gents Sadly. nothing on the back of either of these. First one- I'm guess it’s not that clear in the picture but I’m thinking there is a badge tucked in between a 1908 jubilee and a red ribboned merit cross ? In real world, with an eyepiece, it’s looks like the badge has an Hungarian crown with the same overall design that I’ve seen on belt buckles... ~~~~~ and this next one looks to me like the medal has been hung on an existing ribbon bar thread already on the uniform.? is it a plain merit cross on bravery ribbon? is that likely as a first medal for a man of his rank? i recall, in a recent thread, mention that studio props (equipment/uniform) were provided sometimes for use ...... anyway - here he is... Hope you like Gents tony
Farkas
Hi Gents More than a few with silver bravery, bronze bravery and Karl cross combinations... On the back row, right side, to me it looks like he has a large silver too.... and this Hungarian liked badges! I think 3 or 4 of them on his cap something on his right pocket flap And one on his left breast pocket - even with eye piece not sure if it’s an 8 or 9 on it. tony
