j-sk Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Hello,About 35 years ago, when I was a young tank commander, I bought the following badge in a shop in Thun (Switzerland).I bought it because it reminded me of my dauntless "predecessors" who were stuck in uncomfortable noisy tin cans full of grease and smoke. The badge is plain silver and weighs 29 grams. Please note: it looks slightly rosy on the pictures but this is a mere effect of the light. It is in fact more blueish. It has no markings and I am not sure about its originality. I personally regard it as a copy.Could anyone confirm?ThanksJean-Samuel Karlen
CRBeery Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 This looks to have the 1957 period type pin on it. Not an awarded piece.
Chris Boonzaier Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Agree, a copy. Nice space filler if you need one.
j-sk Posted July 5, 2017 Author Posted July 5, 2017 I have seen the following badge for sale, lately. But... Original... or Copy...?
dond Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 I believe this is a Morgi copy based upon the reverse set up.
Bayern Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Hello Gentlemen : take a look to site German Daggers com , into it to the Forum and iside this to Imperial combat badges .
dond Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 GDC would be the last forum I'd go to. WAF has several good threads on these.
j-sk Posted August 16, 2017 Author Posted August 16, 2017 Thank you all for your interesting replies. Jean-Sam.
Bayern Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 I dont understand the contempt about German Daggers .expresed
dond Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 They are a great forum for discussing daggers but lag behind others when it comes to badges etc....
