scottplen
Looking at LS award ribbon seems crossed swords were on ribbon ? I'm wondering if originally it had Austrian wwi cross on it not 15 year cross ??? Was it updated by vet ? Or was missing and just replaced with LS award ??? Now do I get Austrian cross or leave on 15 cross ??? Thinking this belongs here ? Thoughts ?
VtwinVince
Nice find, Scott, those GMVM's are getting pretty tough to find. I still have that medal bar with the 333er that I got from you.

ixhs
Did i understand it correctly? You replaced the GMMM ? If yes - hm... the GMMM was only in a few pieces given to non-wuerttemberg units. I would it replace it on an typical wuerttemberg medal bar with for example: EK2 - GMMM - FEK - DA How much weight does it have?

Hi, you misunderstood something, scottplen bought this medal bar, and the former owner told him, that the medal was silver gilded, but as he got it, it turned out, that it was made from 333 gold. scottplen
I did not replace anything it is how I got it ! It was sold as a silver gilt but it is 333 marked for 8k gold ! How many Prussians receive GMMM ? I assume not many !
ixhs
Yes, but the preowner (Voreigentümer) could also replace the silvered MMM in a GMMM. The SMMM was often awarded to prussian units. It was the equivalent of the prussian IC2nd class. There are no notes, that the GMMM was awarded to prussians at all. The only possibility is, that the soldier has been a wuerttemberg NCO (a citizen) served in a prussian regiment.
ixhs
PS: Your GMMM is a good one.
