Unknown Uniform - Werkschutz? Police?

Got this nice photo today. He's heavy armed. Maybe someone can identify his uniform.

It's dated 1932

Probably Border Police . note the binoculars and the electric .

electric torch the carbine is another distinctive item

I do not think it is a Werkschutz of any sort, not with that kind of equipment

Is he not holding a police whistle in his left hand?

Did they have "local" village/township police back then or were they all standardized forces, like during the TR era?

I have a photo showing a badge that is similar. Not the same but shape is similar. it is on the cap of a tram  (strassenbahn) conductor

The photo was taken in Wien (Vienna).

Those are some unseen(by me) uniform variants.  Thank you for sharing them.  I wonder what color the piping around the collar tabs is?  Red is railway.  I wonder if tram/street cars had a specific color?

Hi Paul,

I have several Strassenbahn photos in my collection and all show different variations of uniforms. I don't know whether there was any standardization of uniforms or whether each district/city used their own version.

The trams conductor in my photo wears the Wien Strassenbahn emblem on his cap. The person in the original post wears a similar type of badge.  He wears all his gear for the photo including a lamp with white and possibly red lenses.

In his left hand he holds a whistle. My best guess is that he is some kind of guard. Which organization he was part of is unknown to me.
