91-old-inf-reg Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Hi all, I’m just needing a little assistance in IDing a few of his medals, thanks
Lukasz Gaszewski Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 Judging from the obverse, the oblong eye and the arrangment of stripes on the ribbon, it can be the Friedrich-Luisen-Medaille of Baden of 1906.
Kriegsmarine Admiral Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 (edited) Interesting medals. Edited February 27, 2020 by Kriegsmarine Admiral

Hi Unfortunately I don't think it-s that attached enhanced image, the profile is different
1812 Overture Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 I personally feel more like Mecklenburg medals because they are close to the sea. The jaw in the photo is sharp

Regierungsjubilaum 1903" by any chance, not familiar with that one?
Komtur Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Another portrait obviously from the same session. May be this ist of some help ...
Lukasz Gaszewski Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 With all respect, but I will insist on Baden - for at least two reasons: 1. the eyelet - typical of Baden's medals. Can you think of any other German-speaking country's medals with the eyelets like that? 2. the ribbon - I will insist that the edges are white, not yellow like in those Anhalt or Mecklenburg medals shown above. Yellow used to come out quite dark on old photos - just have a look at the prince's Militärverdienstkreuz of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Its ribbon should have yellow and red edges and the yellow look even darker than the red. The sequence of colours on the ribbon of our researched medal (dark with dark side-stripes and white edges) matches the ribbon of the Friedrich-Luisen-Medaille.
Great Dane Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 I think there are 2 unknown medals - one unknown on each photo. They are not the same (just like the bar itself is quite different).
Lukasz Gaszewski Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 I agree - they are two different medals.
