Claudio Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Dear Forumites, A question to the most knowledgeable: Kronprinz Rupprecht when he was wearing his General Helmet, the Helmet plates/emblems and chin-scale were in Golden or in Silver colour? Here a couple of black and white pictures... I couldn't find any colour painting or photos of him with his Bavarian General Helmet. Thanks in advance for your most appreciated comments. Cordially, Claudio
Chris Boonzaier Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 I had a postcard with a painting on it, there he had a gold one.
Glenn J Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 The 1904 regulations state quite simply: "as per officers of the mounted branches, with silver fittings etc". A royal decree of 15 April 1913 introduced the wear of the central coat of arms in coloured enamel. Regards Glenn
Claudio Posted May 30, 2020 Author Posted May 30, 2020 (edited) Thanks Chris, thanks Glenn, I also think is rather Silver than Gold... The Gold ones are for Generals à la Suite, Generalarzt and Artillery & Jäger Generals. I have seen on my books Bavarian Cavalry General helmets also in Silver.
