buellmeister Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Gents, Here is my latest acquisition. It is a a Deutscher Offizier Verein issued EKI. The first screw back in my collection and I love the quality of this piece. Regards, Joel
Alex K Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Very nice, looking for a quality screwback myself Alex k
buellmeister Posted November 29, 2020 Author Posted November 29, 2020 Alex, Thank you for your kind words! Stay the course on your hunt and they do come out of the woodwork! Regards, Joel
Glenn R Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Lovely piece Joel. Such a high quality screw back pattern and so nicely finished. Congratulations! Glenn
Eric Stahlhut Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 these are excellent, quality-made crosses, and now you need the double screwback version to keep it company! and then all the different hallmark variants, lol! on this particular cross the screwpost has been replaced at some point. very nice to see it still has the retaining disc intact, as many crosses i've encountered often have this element missing, for some odd reason
Chris Boonzaier Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 Very nice... am i mistaken in thinking I have seen these with the German officers association name on them?
buellmeister Posted December 1, 2020 Author Posted December 1, 2020 Eric, I have previously stated, this is my first screw back and certainly not the last.. Tis a slippery slope for sure with these. I certainly will keep a look out for the other variants. Thank you! Regards, Joel Chris, Thank you! From what I've seen, there has been no reference to DOV stamping in particular. I'm only dipping my toe in uncharted waters...Anyone know of any others with different stamps or markings? I'm intrigued. Joel
gregM Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Joel, Here are a couple different DOV screw nuts. 1
Chris Boonzaier Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 I read that the DOV had 50 sales points/branches, many in occupied countires, where officers could buy anything from awards to uniforms to map cases... just some info of interest.....
buellmeister Posted February 16, 2021 Author Posted February 16, 2021 Greg, thank you for posting other variants. If money and time were of no object, oh the possibilities... Regards, Joel 1

AND you could also invest with them...here is an early document that shows a modest return of 4% interest and here is their company logo from the 20s/30s...i've never noticed it before so i thought i'd share it. it's a rather unique design Edited February 22, 2021 by Eric Stahlhut
VtwinVince Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Nice cross indeed, certainly bears a strong resemblance to Meybauer pieces.
buellmeister Posted March 3, 2021 Author Posted March 3, 2021 Gentlemen, Thank you so much for your comments! Regards, Joel
