    aaaaahhhh... yes, that's it! the 1911 version....

    I wonder what Leutnant Schulz did to get one...

    Only 21 awards between 1905 and 1918 (Model 4+5 combined this being model 5) ! ... does that classify as rare?

    Thanks to a tip on SDA I have found him....

    Strangely in his records no EK2 is mentioned... it may be a postwar award..... Fritz Traugott Schulz... museum direktor and head curator of the Germanischen Nationalmuseum in Nürnberg.

    Interestingly enough he was arrested by the NAZIs on the 22 March 1933.. on the 2oth Himmler had announced the ipening of Dachau, on the 22nd the first 150 political prisonners arrived... seems to be a big coincidence... After his release he had been removed from his position at the Museum and forced to retire...
