Very nice, the USA are really awarding a large bunch of medals for civilians.

But I'm wondering what the requirements are for those medals?

    Kind regards,

    Jacky

Jacky, good question. It is extremely hard to find information on the medals, even more so for requirements for being awarded them. I never had any idea there were this many Civilian and Public Service Agencies / Medals in existance.

It would be great if a book wa written on all these similar to the Call of Duty did to the Military side.

President's Council on Y2K Conversion Medal

This is the award made by President Clinton to government employees who were involved in the Y2K conversion of data to prevent the disruption of government services, social security payments, military pay, etc., after the year 2000 because of the computer codes only requiring the final 2 digits of the years.

Holy cow, that's an impressive collection of civilian awards. :jumping:

I had no idea there were so many of them. A friend of mine was in Russia when they were destroying/dismanteling nukes. He got this medal as an observer to the destruction of them. I forget when it was but he said the US and the USSR agreed to a reduction of certain types of nukes under the first G. Bush administration and he was one of the group sent to confirm it. From what he says, Russians came and watched our guys destroy (dismantle) some of our nuke silos.
