    1. I recently bought as well a Brunswick Watrerloo medal, suspension is missing. Unfortunately, it never reached me. It was lost on the post way, or even never sent. Seller does not answer my e-mails anymore. If anyone sees a this medal, to "CHRST . SCHMIDT . 1. LIN BAT.", please inform me. It actually is mine. I do not hardly need it (so you might keep it!), but I do need information where it was bought. If the seller sold it twice... I'm getting angry about it.
    2. From what I have seen, he has tons of parts of orders...
    3. Christophe, I thought you now bought the picture I used to own, but it is not the very same. Two examples of one, appraently. No, I think he mounted them from right to left - with the EK as only non-Saxon award in "last" place. ;)
    4. For acts of bravery to EMs and NCOs, in those wars or conflicts an EK was not awarded. THe MEZ1 is an equivalent to the EK1 from it's ranking, but as the conflicts usually were smaller than the great war, and as it went to EM and NCO only, it's way scarcer. This type shown here was introduced in 1864 and awarded mostly in 1864, 1866, for China and south west Africa.
    5. Very nice bar, lovely quuality! His SWA connection is not sure. I think we cannot exclude he was there, but chances are he did a job in Bavaria that qualified him for it, e.g. some bureaucratic stuff.
    6. I'd wait as well for another one, while I cannot prove it is not period.
    7. Crosses of this types are flooding the market for several years. In Germany, they are often found offered by some "well known" eBay sellers like ichverkaufealles12345, salihero, orehilas321, raritaetensammlerclub etc. If you do a forum search, you will find several of their stuff discussed.
    8. Please re-read your postings and ask you the same. As the youngest who commented here as there I feel offended by your highly ironical postings, and especialy about your thoughts on others age. It's not about age. It's about a disputable order an its owner who has to much faith in it. Here's the thread from WAF, for those who are interrested in it: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=489432
    9. Thanks guys, that's exactely what he's been told (by me and others) before on another forum... If the jeweller does not see from an in hand inspection what we see with some pictures, he should buy new glasses... This cross is not one piece regarding the cross body and swords, and if it were, it had even worse chances being old. And, as Markus said, the combination of awards is odd. What sense does a private purchased replacement cross make on a bar where it likely does not belong to?
    10. I cannot comment to if this combination is possible, but they do look like fakes.
    11. Three Irons Crosses 2nd class, two Baden silver merit medals.
    12. From what I've seen, this is most likely a peace time award to military person. Makes sense in this nice NCO grouping.
    13. Regarding the "Adler der Inhaber" to ladys: If I remember correctely, I read twice there were no such awards. One article was by Willi Geile, as a result of his work on the Deutsche Ordens-Almanach, punlished in an old OMM (Orden-Militaria-Magazin). While I totally agree ladys did not get the eagles, I do not agree we can draw this conclusion from the DOA. If there have had been three, ten, or even 100 ladys who got it, and these are not listed there, they would disappear. Never such a conclusion from DOA! More convenient is a remark by Dr. Sauerwald in BDOS-Jahrbuch 2005, page 32, in a article about the house order of Hohenzollern, which states: "Frauen waren, wie wir detailliert aus dem Aufsatz von Henning wissen, von einer derartigen Auszeichnung noch ausgeschlossen, wenn es auch schon entsprechende offizielle Überlegungen und Vorstöße in dieser Richtung gab, die jedoch nur allzu oft an der letztlich ablehnenden konservativen Haltung des Königs, hier Wilhelm II. von Preußen, scheiterten." I wish I could translate this literatlly. There is a work by Henning (Sauerwald missed to give the correct source) that shows that women in Prussia were not dignified for the decorations men would receive. While there were some (not unimportant) people that thought one could change this (probably especially for those women that were doing same jobs as their male counterparts, e.g. teachters), Wilhelm II. did not want a change - so there was none, and no women got the Hohenzollern eagle.
    14. Why?! The 24 and 40 year crosses were for officers and NCOs, while the 15 year cross was for EMs/NCOs only. So the 24 cross matches well, if he was in service that long. But there's missing an award - probably the Nazi German 40 years award for officials. These are often missing on bars, possibly due to the huge black enemaled swastika.
    15. Only if he was in service pre-WW2, which he apparently was not. I think that's the bar to a re-activated officer.
    16. I'm not sure, Saxony is not my field, but I think it has chances. The Saxons both are knight's 1st class, the Württemberger for sure as well.
    17. I'm wondering why dealers put their names on pictures, if we just re-paint it... The bar looks fine to me. Very fine. I don't think you should let it go back.
    18. ... and did not even let his bar re-mount. It's getting worse and worse!
    19. I think the same, and have one. The typical men who wore an award on a bow were civilians who had no other awards. Though, not saying it was typically.
    20. That is a 1913/15 MVK 2nd class. To be honest, I don't know if it's good, but would rather not touch it. Curious what others will say.
    21. Sad but true, to quote one of my favorite musicians...
    22. The Red Eagle Order is a 4th class, thus the oaks on his grand cross. The last award on the bar seems to be a Mecklenburg-Schwerin military merit cross 2nd class (he held both, 1st is a pin back). I'm not sure regarding the second to last award. Choose one , here's his entry from 1902 Prussian army rank list:
