    1. I like those enhancements! I especially like the look of the naval badge. It really stands out but has a nice patina color. Great job.! I would like to see more of these that you do.
    2. mmmm, yeah. but if it is too large, it's distracts from the piece and renders it worthless. if too small, it could be buffed out.
    3. Junk... This is the original thread to a Cross that I thought was legit. I think the general consensus is that it is fake. I'm not interested in an St. George Cross copy and I was going to offer for sale under Replica Sales (at a Replica price). But my question is; if I sell it to someone, who sells it someone, who then sells it to someone else could that person believe it was legit? Basically, I am only re-stocking a known fake back into the collecting market?
    4. are you saying that ALL of these are bad?!?!
    5. I concede to your debate points.... 1) Many years of experience. 2) Self promotion as an expert in medals. 3) charging top commissions for their expert advice. Point 1, I only discovered this auction house a few years ago and from my initial look at it I concluded that they were a coin house, exclusively. And only started to dabble in other artifacts and militaria awards because of the $$$ to be made. I had not realized how long they have been dabbling in military. Point 2, I thought when they said "medals" they were referring to TABLE medals. Point 3, They certainly do charge a lot. I guessed that this was more of a psychological phenomena that consumers equate higher prices with higher quality. At least in this case, higher commission costs with higher expertise. Ill-deserved in this case.
    6. nice doggie.... sorry to see Kunker pushing these bad pieces. In their (only) defense they are mainly a coin auction and the medals/orders are just not their forte.
    7. Gentlemen; Theses are all wonderful bars. Thank you for starting this thread Chris. I have a couple of entries, but right now I can only add the link to my favorite. I will confess in advance, it is a bit of a cheat to the category. Yes, he was a NCO during the fighting, but later became a (Prison) Officer and earned some additional awards.
    8. Back from the digital desert...and maybe that's not a good thing.  It's nice to be cut off from the net collective and only experience the nature and people that are right there in front of you.

    9. Hello Tim; Great looking bar. I can't make out the clasp on the first Military Merit medal. Can I see a close-up? I don't know the answers to your questions, but I hope someone here can help you. Good luck!
    10. Congratulations on a great, little bar. When you get the right medals on it, you need to show it again.
    11. http://gmic.co.uk/rules2015.pdf I can't explain all of your problems with posting, but I posted the link to the guidelines above. Any other technical issues might need to be addressed by those more knowledgeable that me.
    12. The Sale Room is for "Regular Members". You will have to make those arrangements, but I think when you do, you will be getting a lot of attention. ...a lot of attention. Good luck.
    13. Great story, happy ending. Once in the family, back to the family. Rick R. would have loved it. I dare say it would have brightened his whole morning to read this.
    14. Great looking badge! Is that the same type of badge as shown on the photo in your post from August 3, 2013? (I am not implying that this is his badge, but it looks like the same manufacturing style.)
    15. ARRRR...my mistake. I beg your pardon. Monday and no coffee yet.
    16. Then the EK2 with combatant’s ribbon confuses me. He was nowhere near the front and he gets a combatant award? Do the regs indicate the award can be bestowed on combatant ribbon to individuals important to the war effort? Nevertheless, I also believe this was mounted for civilian wear. @‌IXHS I understand that the list of Henry II list is long,. But what is the list you have? Are there any details, like rank? Who was the typical recipient in 1912-1918?
    17. That is quite the "looker". I saw that one as well. That Braunschweig looks great on anything. I would guess it was mounted for civilian wear and not navy. I wonder who this guy is? I hope you can identify him! Perhaps it will lead to understanding what he did to earn his awards.
    18. Chuck; These are great badges! But an even greater group to an individual. Important pieces to the history time period they cover.
    19. Personally, I like the "Saxon trio" as well. But that also depends on whether you already have a Saxon trio w/EK2 in your collection. Major point; the HEM w/1914 clasp that is MOUNTED must be somewhat rare.
    20. WOW! I don't think I have ever seen that many naval guys together all wearing their flight badges. What an outstanding photo to own! Thank you for sharing. @‌Alex -Thank you for the identification.
    21. wow, what a bar if it is legit and especially if it can be traced. I know a Godet bar aficionado on this forum. I hope he sees this thread and comments. Good luck!
    22. I agree with both of these statements. A really nice ribbon bar with GREAT foreign awards (Romania and Great Britain!). I do believe that number 4 is the Swedish Order of the Sword, with swords (think it come with and without (more) swords). I think number 11 is on Friedensverdienste ribbon. That would make it a peacetime award and it would naturally fall back in ribbon ranking. Curious why he put the Saxon FAM after Romania and GB, but I think the owner believed that Saxon award was just another foreign country and the medal ranked below the Romanian and GB awards he earned.
