    1. The Sale Room is for "Regular Members". You will have to make those arrangements, but I think when you do, you will be getting a lot of attention. ...a lot of attention. Good luck.
    2. Great story, happy ending. Once in the family, back to the family. Rick R. would have loved it. I dare say it would have brightened his whole morning to read this.
    3. Great looking badge! Is that the same type of badge as shown on the photo in your post from August 3, 2013? (I am not implying that this is his badge, but it looks like the same manufacturing style.)
    4. Then the EK2 with combatant’s ribbon confuses me. He was nowhere near the front and he gets a combatant award? Do the regs indicate the award can be bestowed on combatant ribbon to individuals important to the war effort? Nevertheless, I also believe this was mounted for civilian wear. @‌IXHS I understand that the list of Henry II list is long,. But what is the list you have? Are there any details, like rank? Who was the typical recipient in 1912-1918?
    5. That is quite the "looker". I saw that one as well. That Braunschweig looks great on anything. I would guess it was mounted for civilian wear and not navy. I wonder who this guy is? I hope you can identify him! Perhaps it will lead to understanding what he did to earn his awards.
    6. Chuck; These are great badges! But an even greater group to an individual. Important pieces to the history time period they cover.
    7. Personally, I like the "Saxon trio" as well. But that also depends on whether you already have a Saxon trio w/EK2 in your collection. Major point; the HEM w/1914 clasp that is MOUNTED must be somewhat rare.
    8. WOW! I don't think I have ever seen that many naval guys together all wearing their flight badges. What an outstanding photo to own! Thank you for sharing. @‌Alex -Thank you for the identification.
    9. wow, what a bar if it is legit and especially if it can be traced. I know a Godet bar aficionado on this forum. I hope he sees this thread and comments. Good luck!
    10. I agree with both of these statements. A really nice ribbon bar with GREAT foreign awards (Romania and Great Britain!). I do believe that number 4 is the Swedish Order of the Sword, with swords (think it come with and without (more) swords). I think number 11 is on Friedensverdienste ribbon. That would make it a peacetime award and it would naturally fall back in ribbon ranking. Curious why he put the Saxon FAM after Romania and GB, but I think the owner believed that Saxon award was just another foreign country and the medal ranked below the Romanian and GB awards he earned.
    11. This idea should work, at least partly. But it will certainly need the general humidity of the hat increased. If it is dried out, like I suspect it is, it will retain this shape indefinitely. But adding moisture can be perilous to the piece if the moisture is then not removed. It needs to be a three part process. 1) Slowly add humidity to the hat, one method is to have it several times in the bathroom where you take hot steamy showers. 2) Gently form the hat back to the correct shape and stuff with clean rags to hold that shape. 3) the most important of all is that you must actively REMOVE the humidity from the hat. Don't let it just sit and dry out. Otherwise you just activated every mold spore in the felt and threads and gave it the precious water they need to flourish. The hat will become a mess in weeks. Put it in a small room next to a dehumidifier. 50% is a low setting, but go for lower, like 40. IMO, Don't do step 1, if you can't do step 3. Good luck!
    12. This is the first time I've come across this tread. Boy-o-boy, Ehms really earned a heap of fruit salad in his lifetime!
    13. Nice medal indeed! OEK 2543 / H&S 1778a I like the clasp, issued from the Herzog Carl Eduard medal (H&S 1776). Sorry H&S doesn't mention the number of recipients. Only that the medal was issued from 1919 to November 14, 1935 and after October 16, 1935 it was awarded with swords-on-the-ring.
    14. This looks like just the ticket for increasing inelastic eye lens muscles.
    15. Wow. Great. Certainly an interesting piece to be connected to the annexation of that corner of Romania. I don't know anything on the history, but I presume that after the Tsar pushed Napoleon out of Russia he keep advancing and took this little piece too. I would like to see the hallmarks when you can get a photo of the reverse.
    16. What you have there is a "Jeton". Or at least it try to appear like some kind of 100-year commemorative jeton. Usually they are made with a high amount of skill. This one seems to be crudely made. The inner shield border is uneven. The royal eagle insignia is blandly reproduced. I presume you didn't show the reverse because its flat and unmarked (that is OK, that is period construction), but if you could show the reverse on this one, it may lead to some more discoveries.
    17. Sorry. I should have come up with this. I've been to this castle. That distinctive tower in the front should have dialed me in.
