    3. Hi, The blockade breaker was a late award, but dates from the beginning of the war, partially prewar time. He was on one of the Navy supply ships for the battleships that left german waters just before the outbreak of the war. He was on the Westerwald. They were disguised as a Norweigian ship.

        Why do you ask? ; ) This made me think of the oldest vets I've ever met. Aside from meeting and knowing many WWI vets in the past, I met a man from NY who served in the US Cav. on the Mexican border; had never ridden a horse and he was assigned to the cav.

    9. Here is some of his other stuff. Obviously as an officer he had no cap tally, but I looked for a Bernd von Arnim Tally to display with his stuff for almost a decade before Gordon Williamson came up with this beauty.
    10. Strangely both are very, very late war... December 44 and 1945... I wonder what they had up until then?
    11. These are parts of 2 groups out of my wifes family... For many years I have wondered if I should have them mounted... For every reason i find in favour of that, I find one against it as well... What do you guys think?
