Now that he has artificially inflated Soviet prices, he has sold off the 500+ piece collection and purchased a rather palatial estate for himself. Now he's trying to make you think Cuban medals are a sound "investment" too..... as you boys & girls increase demand, prices will rise again to an artificially perceived level that is surely due to collapse. Of course since the (T)ET? has just sold off all his Cuban stuff while the "learning curve" takes place again.... he'll be able to park his new Viper in front of his new home. Hi Willi, this was not directed at you. As far as I am concerned, the incident in question is over. Hopefully, it will be over for you as well. Your comment is (again) not very polite or in spirit of this forum. I hope you can move beyond this soon.

Therein lies part of the frustration for folks Willi. They spend hours of their time trying to help someone out and it was either not necessary as the owner of the bar already knew, or the information was then used to double/triple the asking price of an item. It has a tendency to make the research specialists hesitant to share/help people out.

I regret to say I finally let my membership lapse... attempting to attend was hopeless... I can't even get away from work for a kind, local (relatively) invite.... sigh, sigh, sigh...

Gentlemen, Willi is correct on this issue. It is not quite so simple as the shape of the well for the hinge. There are many other factors to be considered when dealing with Bavarian Aviation badges. Yes, I know that Robert Pandis rejects all badges with this crown well.... but it wasn't that many years ago that he also accepted Juncker "crown" badges as original. There are many points to be considered.....

Whilst my (Truly) Evil Twin? is correct, the possibility is it might just be a German Bar..... I would tend to be very surprised at that with absolutely NO German awards of any type.... I would tend to think that a diplomatic officer (Because that is what they were....) who would have received this rather impressive spread of awards would have at least ONE German award in his group??? Not impossible, but in my eyes, that's stretching the envelope some..... my "gut call".
