    1. OK, I'm way behind on my "learning" of cyrillic. We have two nuts, two types: Moscow Artists' Collaberative-Mirror Back & Nut marked Monetny Dvor Is the "Money Mint" Moscow, or Leningrad? Still trying to figure out where the Leningrad Mint fits into the scheme? And I'll ask again........ does anybody have and/or know of any of these that were made in "real silver"? Thanks!!!!!!!!
    2. Interesting little set. Especially the silver hallmarks. Whoever he was, must have been local to your man as those are not the usual Berlin marks!
    3. Nice display Greg and I really like the cabinett. I also like using the easels, smart idea!
    4. Thanks guys, I'm still thrilled with the group. Given what's here and what's right, the stars are a disappointment, but it's still the best ORB group I have!
    5. Dolf! Welcome to The Forum. I look forward to you helping expand our considerable "investment" in Mongolian Awards on the web! Welcome!
    6. Speaking of the Red Combat Banner... Alexei Merehzko just posted up a great big batch of new Mongolian Awards on his website!
    7. Chuck, neat little group with (again!) some interesting history wrapped around it! Nice find!
    8. It's nice to see the Sax-Meiningen piece mounted in these varied presentations. It's another of the harder to find medals in mounted groups.
    9. I really like the "South-German" one with the Polizei device. That device is not all that easy to find!
    10. Yes, except now you have to find an 1870 NC EK2 to put in it!!
    11. Hi Bob, they look very close.... but I don't think he would have won his repeat to the '39 EK2 Prior to receiving the Czech Medal. Then left the repeat spange off the bigger bar??? Or, dropped the Czech Medal in preference for a smaller bar? Very odd. BUT! Really nice bars Ralph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    12. 2 problems.... same seller has the next bar he had... again, missing the 2 Saxon awards. There's a third Bar out there somewhere. Plan on spending a minimum of $600 on a ZVO2wX ALONE....... if one can be found at all.
    13. I told him......... I told him I liked it. I told him my "gut call" was "right as rain". I told him SPM posted a Johanniter........... BUT NO!! Did he Listen to me? NO! I am so alone...............
    14. Yep, a little bummed over this, but it's my own fault. In studying all his photos (the guy who had the set) the 2 stars I received are the ones he showed, but I checked the RB's, not the RS's. We shall see what he has to say..... (I will confess to still being outrageously pleased with everything else and the matching orders book!)
    15. Alas, a small damper on the party.... the 2 Red Stars aren't the right ones! All the others match the book...
    16. Me too. Attention all Imperial "Investors" don't do it! Stay far away.... buy a McDonald's franchise instead! ;>)
    17. Well thanks Rusty! That means a lot to me. The disc is about half the size of the later ones and looks like real silver, although it's not marked or numbered. Interesting note... there was a very thick fiber button between the the disc and the award itself. Very interesting.
    18. Yep. I'm very much looking forward to as much of a file that can be found. It should make an interesting addition to the "Researched Groups" Forum when it arrives!! Now the hard part...... the wait.
    19. Well, let's be careful with that... I see literally hundreds of suspect bars and nothing glows. Not the ribbons, the backing nor the thread. On any given day you can purchase all the original, WW2 era FG thread you could ever want.....
    20. And his Orders Book. Everything listed is still with the group. A 1942 Red Banner should prove to be a pretty interesting citation!
    21. And a "group shot". Two Red Stars. One's pretty beat up on one arm.... but it's his. He kept it, so will I.
    22. One of the things that really appealed to me about this group, apart from the completeness, is this one little detail. He never conformed to regs and kept his initial award. Even his medal bar reflected his feelings on this coveted award. Note that his first place Red Banner Ribbon on the bar has a "blank" bottom. he simply mounted the S/B below the bar and wore it like this!!
