    1. I don't know if they can be read or not.... but medals/badges with documents are bringing very strong $$ on eBay. The odd thing is.... that I have watched obviously mismatched medals/documents (RE: different number on each piece) still bring (IMO) large $$. So far, I have bid on exactly 2 Security badges from Mongolian State Security. Both with badges and both at what I would consider very strong prices........... outbid on both. No joy in Mudville.
    2. Greetings Heiko! A very nice bar. It is always interesting to see these Hesse ribbons that fade to white. I think it will be a little hard to find your man because so much invisible war-time stuff on the bar. The Italian & 25 Year LSC might help, but we'll have to wait for the Wizards to check in!
    3. I think a "worker's" with the Cog and hammer/sickle.
    4. I wonder if all the Type 1's were made at the Moscow Artists' Collaberative or if any were made at the Moscow Mint?
    5. Here's my early one. One of the few Mongolian pieces I kept. Wrong screw-disc, but no enamel damages. I can live with this.
    6. Pretty spectacular David. I don't think I've seen one even close to this for scope & depth.
    7. I'm sorry, but I would respectfully disagree with your list being "equivalent"on many grounds. Many of the awards you list are "Officer Only", the EK was not limited this way. The Hanseatic Crosses were available to any/all ranks but only came in one class. Was it "equivalent" to an EK2, or an EK1? There are other differences, but then it becomes a simple matter of how you wish to interpret the word "equivalent".
    8. Better watch out Bob. Ribbon Bar Lust is an awful disease.......... Welcome to the Forum!!
    9. It's also very nice to see the KD wreath on the Eisernes Krone of Austria. It's not often encountered!
    10. For me, in order to be an "equivalent", it had to have the pinback 1er, and the ribboned 2er. I had not even considered institution date at all. For example, the Mecklenburg FFK was awarded as 1. & 2. Kl. as far back as the 1870/71 war! (Try and find those 2!!!!)
    11. Hi Andreas, if you look at the 3 prior posts that was already discussed. ;>)
    12. Well, at least I now know where that one went. I was your underbidder Glenn
    13. Red Case with "C" hook closure would be appropriate for this one Micha.... not a push-button opener. Very nice cross.
    14. Hi Joe, these additional decorations you mentioned I would not consider a parallel due to the fact that they were not issued as a pinback First & a ribboned Second Class. The W?rttemberg Wilhelm's.... maybe. But I do not believe the award criteria was paralleled or we would see substantially more of these. With W?rttemberg, I would consider their bravery medal in gold/silver a closer match. But as they are not crosses, I omitted them. Same with hesse. the "General Bravery Medal" is probably as close as they get with the "Honor Badge" for the EK1. But again, we don't have the same piece issued in 2 classes.....
    15. OK Prussian EK1/EK2: Note that these 2.kl. also were awarded as non-combattant on distinctive ribbons. Anhalt Friedrich Cross 1.kl./2.kl. Brunswick Ernst August Cross 1.kl./2.kl. Lippe War Merit Cross 1.kl./2.kl. Schaumberg-Lippe: Cross for True Service 1.kl./2.kl. Mecklenburg-Schwerin: Friedrich Franz Military Merit Cross 1.kl/2.kl. Mecklenberg-Strelitz: Cross for Distinction in War 1.kl./2.kl. Oldenburg Friedrich August Cross 1.kl./2.kl. (OK, this next one is questionable) Sax-Coburg-Gothe: Military Remembrance Cross 1.kl./2.kl. Now other states had various medals and crosses, but the above ones are the ones (IMO) that really parallel the Prussian EK
    16. Hi Chip, didn't the J?gers where that Kepi as well? My error is entirely possible, Uniforms are not my area of experience at all.
    17. Nope, Sorry UM, but in my eyes it's a perfectly legit Saxon Bar.... Not all of you may know this and I am not fond of "sounding off".... but once upon a time, The Saxon Military Order of Saint Henry was my "thing"..... as a byproduct of this pursuit and study, I learnt a great deal about Saxony, Their awards and the presentation thereof. In my eyes, this bar was made prior to 1934 and is right as rain. But I cannot explain the presence of the decoration that should not be there....... I think this one must fall into the "Never say never" category. It's a bar I would be honored to have in my collection.
    18. I don't think there was an "official" use of miniature medal bars. If that were the case, I would expect to see a great deal more of these than we do. They pop up infrequently at best. Here's one I have on the Sales Forum in my January medal Bar Sale right now.
    19. Hi Chris. First time I've see that type of suspension on the S-M War Medal and the first time I see this Saxon Vet's cross mounted as well. Very cool! Congratulations!
