    1. I own a large group of material to a USN Silver Star Winner from the sinking of this ship. Here's some photos of the ship as converted to the Cincinatti.
    2. The KVM I refer to is the '39 Medal to the KVK.... I would be surprised to find that the Hungarian Commemorative Medal for WW1 is mounted on the NC ribbon......... not impossible, just surprised if it is!
    3. Hi Paul. Think about it for a moment..... tons of loose ones, tons more mint in the packets. But how many mounted bars have you seen with these non-combattant WW2 awards mounted up?
    4. I think mounted examples of the KVM are like the KVK w. no swords. Very, very hard to find!
    5. ... and one of my favorite archive photos.... Once upon a time, the -75's just seemed to trickle into my hands! Sorry for the HUGE picture!
    6. Thanks Robin. The link's not working at the moment, but eBay seems to be simply having "access" issues. These are a handy reference if anyone is looking for one!
    7. I'm going to pop this back up in hopes some of our Vet enthusiasts have any clue on this little pin. Mike D., out there anywhere??
    8. Concur with Dave on the trifold/influence posture. I've also seen quite a few W?rttemburg awards on trifolds over the last few years or so, including a drop-dead gorgeous Friedrich's RK w. Swords on the traditional trifold w. snap!!
    9. Hi Chris, I've seen a few like this. "normal" bar in every way, but no pin/hinge. They seem to be made that way with no way they ever had the hardware. The only thing I have not figured out was if they were made for display, or actually intended for wear on a uniform. If meant for the uniform, I have always wondered how the heck they attached them to the tunic!?
    10. Hi Chris, no.... the more important thing is seeing the mounting and reverse, at least for the bar collector. I'm not goint to debate the SS medal itself. I'm interested in trying to determine if it is in fact original to the bar itself. Then I'll worry about whether the medal itself is real, or not. (and with respects to that we would need a much better photo! ;>)
    11. Interesting Gordon, I wonder if we have yet another "modernized" name here (think P?llath/Poellath)... can anyone/someone please check their "Court Jewelers of Germany" book for these 2 names? I suspect we will find the earlier Siedlatzek at the same address. (??) I wonder is they had no approval through the LDO to manufacture.... but the purchased and modified another maker's pieces and then slapped there named S/B on it??? Interesting debate/question!!
    12. There's a thread in the back pages (try a search) with several posts of different examples of both original styles of badge. Give it a whirl!!
    13. Chrish, you find such nice things. Is this a variant on the sew-on style? Actually has a backing plate, but no pin/catch?
    14. Well, based strictly on the photos, it appears something was removed and the HKwX added in. Notice that the folds on the bow bottoms (visible in the second photo) are all identical with the one exception being the HKwX. It would be unlikely that the bar was all mounted at the same time (IMO) given this one fact alone.
    15. Looks exactly like a treasured 90+ year old set of awards should. This one was carefully cared for for years..........
    16. Final price ~ 550- Euro, $660USD. pretty high for a parts bar to restore. When you're done with adding what's missing, you'll be pretty heavy into this one..........
