    1. Nice bit of combined effort and research. Beautiful bar. I like it and agree on the rarity. Quite a gem!
    2. I'll add some interesting wound badges from my archives today! Here's a silver screw back to start
    3. I'm not sure I agree with the "S" being for silber..... Scharffenberg used that mark extensively. I've had dozens and dozens of Scharffenberg crosses with this mark The reason I posted the WW1 example is I thought someone would pick up on the fact that it came in a pre-1900 case. Your award would have come in a similar case. I think when you use the phrase "wearer's copy", most imperial collectors go to a piece that is not silver or gold; but rather in bronze of significantly lesser quality and materials. At least I still do that. A privately purchased original piece; as far as I am concerned, would still be an original cross.
    4. I have a dollar that says whatever "officer" wore this in the film he was sporting an EK1 as well, which he could not have had without an EK2, thus making the bar quite historically inappropriate!
    5. I always found these "half-height" bars interesting. Never heard a decent explanation for them other than as some sort of fashion statement. Very nice bar Alan.
    6. I actually bought an 1813 EK2 document off ebay many years ago. You would be aghast if i told you what a low price it was!
    7. I know it's been awhile, but I have absolutely no problem with this award as an original piece. I do not believe it to be a "wearer's copy". Frankly, in all my years chasing Saxon awards, I never saw a single example of this award that was not original...... and precious few at that. Here's my old First Class for comparison
    8. Hi Alan, you are quite correct. I think there's only been a few of these shown. Check Rick's device database for other examples.
    9. Apart from the nobility connection; the simple 1870 EK2 document is spectacular in and of itself! Nice group Chris!
    10. Rick would have loved this one Alan. Perhaps Daniel, Dave or Paul could help with an ID?
    11. OK, I want to be clear on this. Zsolt, what you are saying is the badge set was ALTERED to match the documents????????? I will reserve further comment.
    12. Hmmm, I have seen that mark on another WW2 Juncker piece, haven't I?????????????????
    13. Additional document images. I believe the other hard cover booklet is a priviledge booklet. (??) No clue what the tattered paper document is.
    14. Note that the previous award document is for badge number 362, number has been (privately) engraved on the badge. Here's his Association booklet with a different membership number. At some point we should probably remove booklet numbers from our master list as it seems the booklet number from the Association has nothing to do with the badge itself
    15. No real description accompanied the sale. Here's some images of documents:
    16. I'm not even sure how we would determine a market price for a group like that. It's only the fourth Type 1.1 badge i have seen in well over a year and the only type 1.1 document that's come up that I am aware of. I am sure there are others, but they do not seem to be changing hands publicly. I agree the price is very steep, way too much for me. But, how do you assign a value to a group like that? Any advice would be appreciated!
    17. I don't know if anyone noticed, or if the group was sold already..... but a Type 1.1 badge with proper, matching award document(s) for the recipient of badge #362 was on ebay last week. Not even sure if anyone cares as there seems to be so little activity on the forum these days! If you have purchased the group, please share images. Thanks
    18. Thanks much for the assistance and the links. My friend is quite pleased with the rapid help and knowledge shared. Any comments on the fitings, etc. would be most welcomed.
