    1. The thing that surprises me with Kube is that he still doen't have his entire catalogue on-line.... only highlights.
    2. Here's the front of 658. I never get tired of these early issues! Even with the bruise...
    3. Hi William, thanks for taking a look. This theory is absolutely born out when we look at the inner tray of the low-number issue case! Clearly, this was for an Imperial-era award. But this is how it came.
    4. Whew, what a relief.... When I saw my cousin had responded.... well, I expected to find out that OM stands for "Organisation Militaire" !!
    5. My Frainch cousin likes to test our knowledge and skill.... As far as I can remember no-one has been able to identify this as of yet?
    6. Here's an interesting comparison. On the left we have the lid of an issue case in the 5K range. On the right, the 658 case. Looks like they were still using leftover Kingdom cases and just stamping the lids with the title of the new order.
    7. This really is one of my absolute facorites of this Era. Here's an earlier example. Note the number.
    8. Hi Eddie, I had seen mention that April 28th was the day the Soviets had accomplished a few things, but the web pages didn't mention Bulgarian units. There was heavy fighting around Potsdamm Strasse in Berlin by the Ukrainian Front Army, Also; units of Soviets and the US linked up at the Elbe River..
    9. Paul... that would be a First Class with Swords and a Second Class with Oakleaves
    10. .... I think at the point where someone has 25 "WW2 Ghetto" armbands, pants, stars, etc. alone should be enough to make someone run screaming from the room.... or screen as this may be..
    11. Hi Eric, that would be great! An image of the inside of the book would be great as well. It should show the decree date at least. Thanks!
    12. Nice find and a beautiful order. There's so much outside of the realm of "German" that so many collectors miss out on. The ODM from many, many countries are superb and beautiful. Post away! I cannot imagine what a nice vacation this must have been. the seat of so much power & history in what once was "The New World".
    13. One of the hardest makers to find. Always a scarce badge. Welcome to the Forum Karsten.
    14. Wrap everything in paper towels, but don't leave them there... this type of paper usually has high acidity and it could damage your pieces. DON'T use newspaper ever... you'll just get ink all over the items and your hands. Yuck. OR. use acid-free archive tissue to pad things... that will buy you time to unwrap/set-up your display(s). But remember what my Evil Twin? said. Low rent=High crime.
    15. I always enjoy it when a name & story can be attached to an image. Looking at the photo though, I have a hard time seeing that first ribbon as the Bavarian bravery medal ribbon??
    16. Well. his opening bid is only $99.99 for the ribbon bar. But he has a matching mini-chain listed for an opening bid of $350.00!!!
    17. Surfing about, I spotted this neat Trade Union Badge!
    18. OK, I can accept that Mark, sorry... working from the scan and the "1" looked like a "4"... Well, that's actually a good thing as 40K plus numbered would be a staggering amount of issues in a very short period of time!!
    19. Now, they were all sold individually, I bought all of it. Put everything back just the way it was supposed to be. Sold the group to a collector in California. Last year I spotted part of the group for sale in Canada.... very discouraging indeed. http://www.emedals.ca/catalog.asp?item=GST522 http://www.emedals.ca/catalog.asp?item=GST516 Solo bar.... gone. Wound badge.... gone Ribbon and pin... gone
