    1. Ummmm, Christophe.... Pretty sure that's a Bavarian Ludwig Cross in front of the Jubilee Medal... That would be his only Bavarian WW1 "war" decoration. Mounting seems to be a serious "pure Prussian" precedence.
    2. Hi Bob, can we get a link please? Photo of the cover at least? Thanks!!!!!!
    3. Just a quick thanks to Glenn J for ever-being the source of such astounding depth.....
    4. Frankly, I'm not quite sure which part of this situation offends me the deepest. A) The fact that Dealer "A" cites Bill Shea as his source of information B) The fact that Bill Shea should know better C) The fact that this is the absolute worst copy I have ever seen.
    5. And, courtesy of a sponsor of another forum....... seems we've seen/discussed this one before, but like a bad penny, it keeps popping up.
    6. Thought this might encourage some debate: "M273 Pour Le Merite "Blue Max": I have been informed by Bill Shea that this is a 1930's German made jewelers copy. It is a fine quality piece and has very good detail and some nice age toning. The enamel is very good with a few small bubbles in it. It is a rich blue color. The ring is a bit mis- shapen. The thick, quality ribbon is almost 19 inches long with unfinished ends. There is one spot of damage where the ring touches it. A great piece for display. $1,000.00" Description, photos and copy courtesy of: http://www.hmsbrinmaric.com/badges.htm No, I didn't ask permission to post this. Enjoy it, while it lasts.......
    7. Well, there's not much chance they belong together. Highly improbable that you would find an 1870/71 KDM with no other awards until a 1914 EK2... not to mention the age consideration... My guess would be you're either missing an Honor Cross, Combattant, or depending on what the bar actually looks like you might have a nice early mounting that matches up with the 1870/71 KDM and you're missing an 1870 EK2!
    8. BJOW! Nice group, especially with the repeat bar. Glad you're settling in after the tour. Cheers!
    9. Well, discounting for a moment the veritable plethora of "custom cases" that are available in Germany and on German eBay and an alarmingly frequent basis...... ....... this one I actually like. The cut-outs for the pin on the EK1 & spange are there and look manufactured. Age, material and hardware appear (in the photos) to be consistent with original, period cases I have handled in the past. But this is not the type of piece/case i would buy unless from an absolute trusted source and then not without an iron-clad return policy should it arrive and you find something other than what you want it to be.
    10. Very nice examples Gentlemen. Especially the outer boxed one..
    11. Greetings Gor, thanks for posting so many beautiful examples of how these should look!
    12. Hi FJCP... yes, there does seem to be an endless supply of the T2 Deputat badges...... but there looks to be many with subtle little differences and I don't think they have all been catalogued as of yet!
    13. The whole thing just didn't seem right to me. I have never seen engraving like that. The HLP and no ribbon didn't sit well either.
    14. ummmm, your scan is a RK1wX Mine is RK2wX (Of course, the other one was mine once upon awhile too!)
    15. Allegedly......... Not mine, no, no, no. Just curious as the engraving looks suspect
    16. White Falcon! Saxon-Weimar 5th one I've ever been able to buy. (not including one 1.kl.) All the arms are the correct shade of green, the red inserts are there behind the swords, but the crown tilts it so much the scanner is reflecting. Better pix next week when it visits RR
