    2. Hi Ton Hi Toni It looks very questionable with all those imperfections / Also all those indentations suggest cast method The interest does not indicate - Original Some people, like you doubt the originality and keep watching the item for pure interest to see whether will be sold and how much Cheers
    3. Thanks
    4. First Emission 1945 till 1951 It is Second Class First Class is with white enamel and the back plate/star is gilded Only this Emission is with screw back Next Three Emissions were with ribbon Regards
    5. I agree I feel sorry for the novice collectors Well we all have been through this stage and paid the price
    6. Yes it is very nice
    7. Very nice piece It is the first Star of the Order of St Alexander i have seen The swan mark is French mark for import silver as suggested Here is a Cross from same period
    8. That could ring alarm bell I might be wrong, however when few rare EKs hit the market at the same time I am always on guard We will see if more come for sale by other Dealers or Auction Houses
    9. Welcome
    10. Hi Tony I had similar experience fie years ago The problem is that there are people who browse on eBay and report such items to them I ha warning only They said next time my account could be temporarily suspended for 3 months Be careful Cheers
    11. Similar example will be sold on the next Kuenker Auction in November
    12. Correct Also the crowns are important Because the Presidency period Crown could be confused with 4th Type LOH from the First Empire period as the cross you listed The central medallion could be deceiving since many crosses had their medallions replaced at some stage due to the new Ruler or due to lost of the original ones
    13. Thank you It is a pity I do not have Document to complement the rest However it is too much to desire
    14. Welcome I hope it helped The diamond shape maker marks might have the initials of the maker If you have the cross you can look with magnification if the seller has it you can ask him to look for letters within the mark In my experience the First Empire LOH are rare maker marked Mainly the hallmark is present on the ribbon ring as the one I listed above All knight crosses from this period are Silver and anything from Officer and up are -18 Carat Gold While on the topic - there are LOH, which some classify as "100" days model They are hybrids between the 1st Empire and Monarchy Periods crosses The 1/2 size LOH on the middle of the pictures bellow. Some of those crosses have 1st Empire central medallions. In my opinion it was very turbulent period and parts were quickly replaced and reversed depending of who was the Ruler for the moment Any way I do not believe that your LOH is from this Period I hope more members will reply with their knowledge and opinion Regards
    15. For me it is Presidency period As General rule all First Empire LOH do not have "ribbon bow" on the bottom of the cross. Also the Crown is typical Presidency Period 1848-1852 Also the central medallions of all First Empire LOH (except the miniatures ans some 1/2 size Orders) are three parts design Commander Presidency Period The central medallions are similar as the one you listed
    16. Nice photo
    17. Here is a nice Set of this rare Socialist period Prize According to Todor Petrov only 12 were awarded I suspect that more the 12 have been in circulation on the market The Prize was instituted in 1972 and was given to eminent poets every 5 years
    18. That is an excellent Set Congrats Enzo
    19. Again very nice work Tony
    20. Thank you for your understanding i did not mean to upset you Just tried to get some helpful suggestion I hope your mini collection is growing bigger It is impressive Regards
    21. Hi, It could be You are more advanced collector for miniatures It looked a miniature to me. I just made a suggestion Then if it a full size still could be makers mistake ( i have few Decorations that are legit however they have their text different from the standard ones) ...or an early example as suggested No harm done Good luck with your search Cheers BTW Do you have the obverse of this unusual medal it could give you some hints if it a bit different from the standard ones https://auctions.neauction.com/online-auctions/new-haven-auctions/lot-of-31-silver-and-bronze-red-cross-medals-pins-4767854 This is the auction site I found They have both the obverse and reverse of the Decorations Cheers
