I've looked over two of the sites and they seem to be talking about recent issues (at least the photos and captions are of such) of the Korean Orders, I don't see any photos of the older issued Korean orders/medals. I'll try and take a look in more detail when the weekend hits, as my time is tight due to school.

I'd have to agree with Chris's point here. Plus it is always good browny/karma points in politics to awards medals to those that deserve it. I think the valiant service of those that serve in these medical situations should definatley be rewarded somehow Although this kind of comes off as a commemorative medal/campaign medal.

From the photos I would pass, Brian posted the same concerns I would echo, If it is extra cheap (like 10 bucks) it would be a nice addition to the mantel and an extra nice addition if it ended up being real, although I doubt it's authenticity.

There was a topic that had (I think Polish) Circus Ringmaster's "Orders" with similar designs, basically made up pieces that a Ringmaster used in his performances, although they had designs similar to actual orders. Although they weren't marked and there was a difference between the quality. Reminded me of that topic If I find it I'll re-post it.

Can't say for sure, but it looks similar in design to those "Circus" designs that we had a year ago on the forum, although the quality is much, much better. Is this a miniature or a full version?

Very cool Ulsterman show us the ROK medal when it arrives please As for the jacket, usually multiple military order recipients are occasionally online, this man from his name tag : his name looks like ê¹€íƒœì„ which should read, Kim Tae Eul (family name comes first in Korea), although his jacket reads T. Y. If it was diwn to choice I would pass on most of his Korean Military Merit orders are higher class and he would either have to be a NCO involved in Heavy combat + distinguishing himself in it. I ran his name and will do it again but If it is legit he isnt well known whixh is unusual given the class of orders there.

Have you black lighted it? Someone could have cleaned the ribbons, although it is a tough call, if it is a good price then I'd consider it, but if this a lot, or is a lot financially for you at this time, then you made a good choice at walking away, it is always tough to determine what to do in this situation. :)

Hello George, I don't think it is a mass produced item either, but given the 5th/6th Cavalry tab (can't see too well with my eyes) and it appears almost like wood, have you been able to determine the material? I think it is a famous member of the 5th or 6th, it can't be too hard to track down, hopefully someone will know :)

Hello Alice, Welcome to the forum Just a quick question, what makes you think these are IndoChinese awards/ is there any distinguishing marking/ from a certain book that indicates this? I've seen similar items when I visited Korea, they are usually used by Brides on their wedding day for good luck and good marriage to last well into the future . This isn't to say that these aren't Indochinese awards/orders but Korea has very many customs as China (Korea was under Chinese rule for a long time

My pleasure Eric, I was fortunate to pick that one up that I posted and recipient is a Double Nevsky recipient during the war (only around 200 Double Nevsky recipients out there and about 45 for both in war time)

In the current market anywhere from 1k to 2k for the regular stuff, depending on condition, if you factor in research and variant etc. it can go for much more. Most of the stuff on the bay and similar sites have been listing at 2k and above.

I don't know, Nevsky is mighty beautiful to me especially when one has an interesting story behind it, like this one

Any help is greatly appreciated
