As some of you know, i am collecting pics with recipients of the Iron Cross 1914 on combatant and non combatant ribbon. In the last weeks i could get some new stuff. If you are looking around you can find good pics and sometimes for less money. Now i need some input of Glenn, Andy and DD. Are the following persons to ID? Thanks. Pic 1 : datiert 20.7.1931 ... Rittmeister im 18. Reiterregiment the pic was made in Mettingen. I think the guy was stationed in Stuttgart or Esslingen. He wears the ribbon bar with IC, Hausorden Hohenzollern mit X, Hohenzollern Ehrenkreuz mit X, and i think the last to positions are saxony Pic 2: S.B. IR 362 1915 to an women Auguste Welter, i think it was his wife, so his name should be captain Welter - he has both IC and the hamburg/lübeck hanseatic crosses? Pic 3: ... Pic 4 : Bavarian General?? Tautphoeus? I cannot read his name on the backside Pic 5: One of my favourites with Clasp to the IC 1870 on combatant ribbon. Taken in 1918 in Poland, His name should be von Dembinska? Rittmeister Ulan Veteran 1870/71 on his bar: IC 1914 with clasp, 25 DA cross, Centenar and Kriegsdenkmünze 1870 für Kämpfer Pic 6: Delegierter der Kriegslazarette Franz von Obendorff? What is he? A major or is that the uniform of a official? Pic 7: Stabsarzt Dr. Neter, Dr. Eugen Neter was a famous jewish doctor - later some of his relatives died in the KL. - did he get more decorations than the IC? Pic 8: Kommandeur Oberst Koch ? I cannot read his name - Ldw. Inf. Rgt 40 on the neck the Zähringer Löwen Pic 9: A wuerttemberg military official? I think so.... No name, do you have some ideas? Pic 10: Stab RIR 91 Koblenz - who is that guy in front of the group? Is it the commandeur? What was his name? Thanks for help!

I think with that combination the bar is not to ID.

You can find them at german Ebay - these pieces are imo fakes. Look at the needle system and the Thugra/numbers.

As Mr.T said - it`s definitely not a bar of an medic. May be a higher marine rank. I know were it came from. If there would hang an IC non combatant i had bought it. The version of the black wool looks like that the bar was made by Küst or Wilm. It was made in 1917 or later.

In Prussia there were no trifolds in the period of 1914. They had them earlier (~1870-1900) like Wuerttemberg, Austria ... It only can be a saxon one. But you can also buy modern trifolds. Nice EK2w - i also have 2 of them

The problem on a bar with hooks is, that there could be hung an earlier version (bronce) of the SM medal/cross. ON the pic you cannot see, if it is the zinc version or not.

Tach Andreas! Are you sure that the bar is the same as on your pic? On it the Red cross medal ist mit einem dunklen Faden oben am Rand angenäht? An der Schnalle kannst Du keine Löcher vom Faden oben erkennen.? Komisch? Greetz Joe

Godet twins. One with early shield on it The other one - Frackspange with no label on it. The 3rd one is on with Sedlatzek label on it - i sold it a few years ago in the WAF.

It`s a version with hooks, may be there was a SM medal for non combatants on it. The Version with crown was awarded ~ 600 times. Its a late war version (or after 1918) made of Zinc I don`t think, that the bar could be IDd. The bavarian one(s) were awarded a few thousand times. And if i am right, there are no german rolls for the Hilal-i-Ahmer medal. A very nice bar - i am collecting turkish medals & bars. If you would like to sell that piece in future please let me know. May be we could trade with other imperial things, if you like. I am paying good prices for bringing some nice pieces back home to Germany.

I understand - but i hope, that the piece is still hiding somewhere in Germany. That piece belongs to the history of my country!

If he had only standard decorations, there could be also some officer bars out there. If you are looking for groups, a good place is Ebay.de or some collectors forums in germany. Some of the members there also send items to oversea. Best
