I wonder...? How is it the crown and swords device goes through the mounting and is bent over on the reverse of the mount while the clasps appear to be attached through the ribbon and bent over on the obverse of the mounting bar?

That could be fascinating area of collectiong. There are certainly enough clasps to keep a collector occupied for at least a few years. -
