This order comes with research and this is, what i could read so far: Name: IVAN TROFIMOVICH KARELIN (Please, god, let it be close at least ) born 1908, in the Red Army from December 1930 - Juli 1937 and June 1941 - June 1946 Awards received: Order of Alexander Nevsky Nr. 21.602 14.08.44 Order of the Red Banner Nr. 105.120 19.04.44 Order of the GPW 2nd class Nr. 261.352 25.12.44 Order of the Red Star Nr. 322.691 15.09.43 Order of the Red Star Nr. 2.751.610 25.09.43 Military Merit Medal 03.11.44 Medal for the Defense of Caucasus Medal for Victory over Germany I hope, Rick can fill the gaps. Thanks to a friend and member here i could add this really nice Guardsbadge to my collection. He knew, i allways wanted a wartime one and today this one was in the mail Thank you very much again

Thats a great 57 Knights Cross, nice early production But the best is, that it was actually worn from a RKT

I agree, Dave. Although not playing in your League, i have paid thrice the amount for an ORB lately, what i am normally willing to pay. It was something special and i just had to have it. So i guess, there will be someone out there, who just has to have a "Gosnak"-Red Star and will buy this for this price. Gerd

Bob, these were mostly in fashion in WW1 and WW2 IMO, but I have seen examples from the 1870s too. Chet, great group. If i find one of these, i will grab it for you. Gerd

Thanks, Doc. Additionally the earlier ones doesn?t differ so much from later pieces in quality. This "Gosnak" is of couse a special case because of the construction. I have 5 or 6 Red Stars, earlier and later examples and i love every single one of them. I for one would be happy with a Red Star numbered under 50.000 and they are still affordable to buy. Gerd

Ed, i think, thats not too far fetched. Dolf, yes, its my first and i love it, especially the thick green enamel, but when i see the early ones, its definately not my last one.
