    1. Ugh! Can you reverse the colors to darken the ink?
    2. RE: #36:#2024 H&S: Abzeich. fur milit. Gefolge des K.W.II :Wurtmbrg..
    3. Interesting, I thought the merit cross could and was awarded with the Albrecht order (4,200 1st classes in 14-19!). The higher class of the merit cross shows up on contemporary bars in the Saxon book. Makes one think navy maybe?
    4. I need to check with RR, but I am looking at Pfarrer lists. The Belgian one really throws me though-
    5. wow!!! That Kleist signature is fantastic!! I would love to write to him.
    6. Not long back there was a thread which had a medal bar in it: noncom EK2 1914 noncom@/LD1?/red cross2/something?/red cross3/Centl. and maybe something else. Can anyone help me locate that thread. I have spent the last 4 days pouring through old books and rosters and want to see that bar. Thanks- Jeff
    7. :speechless1: :speechless1: a three jaw-dropping salute. You hit the motherload! Congratulations. #25: Major Richter-that is an amazing WTF Weimar bar. Is that really an EK2/Anhalt/DEL/BavLS/Cnt/Bav jubilee group? #36-Isn't that the Kaiserds' ADC badge?
    8. Really, really uncommon-fewer than a dozen instances. Ever read the Frontiersman- about Simon Kenton? The author did a great job describing the western war of 1812.
    9. He wears a marksman's' lanyard, long service schanlle and what i think is the 'for service" Wurtembrg. medal. A Feldwebel or Sergeant (?) and I think the rear says, In (fondest) remembrance of your old commander Feldwbl Guldmer (?). Probably given to a conscript one-year volunteer upon completion of his service. Pity we can't see the regt. # on his straps.
    10. Do other countries allow their troops to take this medal?
    11. Yeah- I saw that one on eBay. I thought it was because the price was too high. My multi-rivets (2) are all in the vault, but I'll pull them and compare tomorrow. My only really big query was the unusual diamond/strawberry seed pattern. The pits seem "larger" somehow, than others I have looked at. I also wondered about the bubbling in the enamel (which I can not see). I think that means it was hot enamel and it cooled quickly-which is a very good sign, as "cold enamel" (essentially high grade nail polish) seems to be what is used by most modern fakers. It is cheaper and less probe to errors and requires less technical skill to apply. Have you taken it to a jeweler to see what the base metal might be? It looks like a silver alloy of some sort. Personally, going by the pics I would keep it. It looks a nicer piece. It has been very quiet here over the past few weeks.
    12. Bravo! But, worthy of a separate thread, mes amis!
    13. Trick question-there is no complete Index. I have been working on one -working backwards for about 3 months now. I am hoping to find the original comprehensive 1984 index so as to incorporate it. Then I figured I could upload it on the OMSA site and edit it monthly-perhaps even earning myself the OMSA merit medal for all my typing I'll go have a snout round.
