    1. Im aspiring to have a display like that for mine one day! congratulations, its very impressive!
    2. I've gone through the postcards etc that I have in a box here and found one sent to him by his brother, on the reverse the address is given "74 MT ASC BEF FRANCE", not sure if 74 is his company number? I'll hazard a guess at MT - "motor transport"?
    3. Thanks Tony if you can get a copy of the MIC that would be great many thanks!! I only have group photograph of his workshop section, which only lists a unit as No 8 Sup(port) Col(umn)..
    4. Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm hoping someone out there in the great big world of GMIC can assist me. I'm trying to find information regarding my Great-grandfather and his service during WW1 in the ASC. All I know is he went over to France in 1914, was a truck driver, and was (according to long forgotten family information) based mainly in Belgium around Ypres. Prior to 1914 he was a Territorial. I've tried in vain to find information about him and his unit on the net, apparently a medal card exists in the UK, but thats all i've been able to uncover. His name and number are: M1-5910 Private Reginald Duncan STOCKWELL, ASC. Im really looking for information about his unit, their movements etc. He did tell his daughter that he was involved in the fighting during the retreat at Mons in 1914, and I'd like to confirm if his unit was in that area at the time. Many thanks in advance for any assistance! cheers Jas
    5. Quarterdeck Militaria on the Gold Coast? It looks familiar from their shop, if its the same seller steer well clear. Peddles "remounted" (fake) medal bars with flat bottoms and fantasy ribbon bars for movies and TV shows made at the movie studio across the highway from his shop. Cheers Jas
    6. I have another confession....i also have a real weakness for bars which include the good old Prussian Kriegshilfdienst Kreuz....I know, they're ugly and made from zinc, but they hold a real appeal for me :)
    7. I'm with Scott re the Centenary Medal...especially if its mounted in a nice colonial group
    8. I can honestly say its the first time I've ever seen a Pour le Merite mounted on a medal bar!!!
    9. Me too Chris! Me too!!! Closest I've come is a Sudwester from a dealer here in Oz....
